I have four boys, and when I consider how many snack & sandwich sized baggies we go through...well, these turn out to be a great value. Use it for more than one school year, and you SAVE money. Not to mention, they are easily washable -I've never put them in the dishwasher -usually, I just rinse or use a sudsy cloth to quickly wash them out. They hang out in the dish drain to dry.
Trust me, these are easy to use & worth it.
Velcro works nicely.
Fabric is great...NO initial stink or anything.
I sew (costumes, upholstery, draperies, etc), and it is not easy to find food-grade fabric to make these yourself.
This fabric is like the cloth piping bags, and the designs are fun.
Save the Earth & some dough (in the long run, anyway)...buy 'em!

The idea of a reusable bag is great but these are really only useful for things like pretzels or Goldfish. There's not a lot of room in there so you can't pack it in like you can a regular plastic bag. I would say if you are only looking for something for a dry and small snack, these will work.I bought this to use for my 5 year olds snack bag for school. There is no way this will fit anything but a few small carrot sticks. It is barely insulated. It was very cute but in no way worth $8.00. This is the quality of something you would use as a give-away or get for free.Ginkgo Sanibel Surf 12-Piece Stainless Steel Accessory Set

I am a Professional Chef and this is not the first L/S fish spatula I have owned. The full tang handle and flexability make indespensable to me. The most delecate items can be plated with this spatula. I have even used it for poached eggs. My 2 hands are never empty with this spatula and my favorite pair of tongs! This is a top quality professional spatula.Read Best Reviews of LamsonSharp 3" x 6" Chef?s Slotted Turner, right-hand Here
This product makes life easier in the kitchen. Traditionally it is a fish turner, but I use it for getting anything dense out of a pan. The end of it is angled to facilitate removal, while it is very thin and sharp enough to cut a crust from the pan. The piece is also very flexible which helps with that first piece. All of these features are essential to the wide variety of use possible. I consider this a multi-tasker that will always have a place in my kitchen. With this one you can forget the thick, firm spatulas, except for the BBQ.I found out after the fact that this was recommend by Burt Wolf in the New Cooks Catalogue. They gave it a very favorable review, but I would say that they underrated it. That is how much I like it.
I recommend this piece.

I like this a lot. Stong enough to hold all of my knives plus it got the big wooden block off my counter I kept them in before. Not to mention the convenience of seeing the knife you want to use instead of pulling every one of them out to get to the right one. Love it. A friend had bought one so I got one and really like it.Victorinox Stainless Steel 7 Inch Santoku Knife with Rosewood Handle
2) Having said that, this knife is SHARP. Love it. I would buy this brand again (when you come right down to it, Henkels is overrated. Ditto Wusthof).
3) Well balanced & nice fit to my hand (tho prob too small for an extra large hand). I like it much better than our classical (huge) chef's knife as it's easier to use.
4) Attractive "traditional" appearance
Overall? Major bang for buck. I will try Victorinox again (btw, this knife is made in Solingen, Germany).Beware of the odor that the wooden handle has. It's a shame, because the blade cuts beautifully and it sits well in the hand. Maybe I will re-order with plastic handle.

with a good grip handle, for all those everyday uses,
for people who do not have large jobs.
I would even cut meat with it besides cut fruit or onions for cooking;
but when parring anything, watch your fingers; I always cut my
fingers with a new knife but the really good ones are worse.
I don't know if the price was right or not;
If I really like something I keep it forever.

I have Wusthof knives. They are great but the forged line is too heavy for my wrists. I searched and read about knife brands over a period of time, looking for other reputable knives. This utility knife is wonderful. The handle is thick, round and really gives you something to grip onto. It also has a very slightly squishy, rough, non-slip texture which I like the feel of. The blade is paper-cutting sharp out of the package and has been keeping the same sharp edge with honing. Other things about the knife are that the blade is tapered and the weight is mostly in the handle but the blade is light. Less weight in the handle would be good, but I enjoy it so am willing to look beyond that.Read Best Reviews of Mercer Cutlery Genesis 5" Forged Utility Knife, Steel/Black Here

Victorinox Stainless Steel 10 Inch Semi-Flex Blade Chef's Slicer Knife with Rosewood Handle
For the last two years I have participated in small scale hog slaughter with friends and family. The Victorinox Forschner knives paired with a good steel (F. Dick Multicut) made a huge difference the second year; breaking and butchering 5 pigs in about half the time we butchered 4 pigs the year before. The flexibility is great for maneuvering around bones and executing a clean cut, even in novice hands.
The rosewood handle soaks up fat, preventing the handle from getting slick thus preventing dangerous situations. I was worried about the clean-up with the soaked up fat, but had no problems cleaning with soap and water. While fibrox may be slightly easier to clean, I'd rather spend an extra minute cleaning than hours in an Emergency Room waiting to get stitches from an accidental cut.
While you can find cheaper models out there, you'll be hard pressed to find a flexible blade that is as durable and holds an edge as well as this one.
Will gladly buy more Victorinox Forschner knives in the future.

This knife has been used enthusiastically in my hands for about four years now. I also bought the 3 1/2" parer, but wound up only really using the 8" chef as I can easily use it for all my chefly duties. The steel sharpens easily and holds an edge well. After much heavy usage the edge only has some very minute nicks. I have always washed and dried it by hand. A couple of times it was left dirty for a long while that caused a bit of pitting, typical of any steel and easily cleaned using lemon juice.I have large hands (to match the rest of me, I'm 6'2") and this is the most comfortable grip I have encountered on any knife. Recommended!

We bought this pattern 30 years ago for our wedding. The pic looks the same, but the spoon (and fork) are comparatively lightweight and lacking the buffed finish of the original; feels tinny in your hand. I would have been happy to pay more. I really don't think it's reasonable that the price 30 years later should be the same. Buying online will take a hit if it is typified by this kind of pictorial representation posing to be the original item. We'll save these for the picnic basket and continue looking for the well made original.Want Next Day Gourmet Hightower Flatware, Soup/Dessert Spoon 12 per case, 12/BX Discount?
I entertain a lot and many times I serve steak, ever eat that with plastic? Sucks, Sam's solution, sucks too! I have found my solution with these great quality utensils! Some of the reviews speak of rough edges, I have not experienced any of this and have had several compliments regarding how nice they are. Nice weight, nice balance and finish. Highly recommended!Oneida Icarus 45-Piece Set, Service for 8
First thing I noticed out of the box was like some other reports, some of the handles were actually sharp on the back edges. Secondly, on several pieces, the curve between the fork and handle and spoon and handle is very rough almost as rough as the inner portion of the fork tines. I figured that I could live with it since I loved the set otherwise.
Less than a month of use later (including being washed promptly in the dishwasher with regular non citrus/no bleach Cascade) I noticed that not only were the inner fork tines rusting, but several of the knife blades were as well. Closer inspection revealed that nearly all of the pieces with rough surface (spoons, knives and forks) had rust on the rough spots and half of the knives had a spot of rust on the handle in the exactly same spot just underneath the place/date of manufacture stamp.
So why can a 3 week old set be rusting when a couple of years old set look brand new? I realized that beyond the fact that the factory in China that produced my set in June of 08 apparently didn't know what "quality control" meant, the set my mom had was different from mine and others that have had problems.
I asked my mom to see if her set had a date stamp it didn't, but WAS stamped 18/10 Oneida China. I'd assumed (you know what they say about that) that mine was 18/10 and couldn't remember even noting if the box said 18/10 or not, but my set has no 18/10 stamp on the pieces and according to the Oneida US site, the Icarus is now 18/0. Oneida UK still lists the 18/10 Icarus.
While the 18/0 may account for the rust, the other issues are just related to absolutely no quality control and corners being cut in manufacturing. I'm really disappointed in Oneida they used to be a decent brand.Much has been said about the lack of quality control in this pattern. Complaints have ranged from rough edges to rust. Such complaints weren't limited to Amazon's Web site. To Oneida's credit, the complaints are even more extensive on their Web site. They also stop after February of 2010.
I purchased two, 8 service sets of Icarus from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. The complaints stress the cheap, Chinese manufacture, and the change from using the relatively more expensive 18-10 stainless to the cheaper 18-0. The two numbers refer to the percentage of other metals combined with steel. The first number refers to chromium, the second to nickel. People attribute the rust to the lack of nickel.
I have put my flatware through about 6 bouts in the dishwasher, using Finish Quantum tablets. There is no rust, anywhere. Properly made 18-0 shouldn't rust. I have been watching the fork tines especially like a hawk (and will keep on watching them). Written on the box and imprinted on the flatware itself is the country of origin: Vietnam, not China.
Update 16 December 2010: Flatware has been washed repeatedly with Finish Quantum and Cascade Complete tablets, and there is still no rust or discoloration.
The finish is a smooth polish, with no rough edges. No, it's not mirror smooth, but it's pretty good. The exception is the inside of the fork tines. They are merely ground smooth.
In short, it looks like Oneida had outsourcing trouble, and changed factories.
Here are some comments on the individual items:
Knives: These are a fairly standard size and weight, which makes them seem rather light compared to the forks and spoons. The serrations are more pronounced than any other set I saw. In other words, you could probably cut steak with these.
Large spoons: These are slightly wider than what they replaced, and much deeper. These are true soup spoons. They weigh more than double (99 grams) what they replaced (45 grams). These are thick, strong beasts that will not bend at all if you abuse them. Their ends may have trouble fitting small slots in a dishwasher's silverware basket.
Small spoons: These are a little narrower than what they replaced. They fit a large number of narrow containers. They may be narrow, but they are deep. They are also built solid. You can still scoop hard frozen ice cream with these.
Forks: Big, and massive, like the spoons. They have relatively short, thick tines. They, too, may have trouble fitting the smaller slots of the dishwasher silverware basket.
Salad forks: Petite versions of the dinner fork, but with even more shortened tines. They are still surprisingly heavy, and won't bend.
I like the simple lines and curves of this set, but you will never mistake this stuff for formal dinner ware. This is good quality, virtually indestructible, daily beater ware.

I purchased this flatware after an exhaustive search for new everyday stainless. Many of the reviews posted referred to the nice weight and simple styling of the design. All true. However, I should have paid more attention to the couple of reviews discussing rust spots. After the very first wash every grooved piece (forks and knives) were covered in ugly orange rust spots. These were washed in a two year old Fisher & Paykel dishwasher with powder detergent arranged as specified in the manufacturer's care instructions. I spent over an hour using stainless polish to try to remove the spots (it is impossible to remove them completely) and then rewashed only to have the exact same result. These went back pronto! It was a real disappointment from a brand like Oneida. It is clear that there was a defect in the manufacturing process.Read Best Reviews of Oneida Icarus 45-Piece Set, Service for 8 Here
My fiance and I had a hard time looking for flatware that we both liked. We wanted something simple, elegant, and classic. That's what we found with the Oneida Icarus pattern. This pattern goes with everything. Given this is our first complete set of flatware, we wanted something that would go with everything. In the future, we can buy a set with more design or one that we want specifically for a table setting (holidays, etc.)
The flatware is a bit larger and heavier than most other sets; it doesn't feel cheap or bendable. This pattern is available at a number of retailers so I would suggest taking a trip to the store to hold, feel, and examine this flatware.
Dishwasher safe, though we've had some problems with spotting but that is probably due to the dishwasher we have. No tarnishing or other marks to speak of.
The set we received as a gift was not from Amazon. Ours included a five piece bonus serving set of two large serving spoons, one large slotted serving spoon, a large serving fork, and a sugar spoon. I do not believe this one contains the same it would be a good idea to contact Amazon or Macy's to find out.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this set based upon its quality and price. It's your own decision whether or not you like the pattern. :)

I am reviewing these because I was SHOCKED by the one-star reviews. I could see some 4-stars (I will address the rust issue) but there is some real vitriol here that I don't think is warranted.I bought this set about 1.5 years ago. It is beautiful and washes wonderfully without rust spots. I should note that they will get rust spots (like all other stainless steel utensils and pots and pans and knives) if you use lemon detergent, use too much detergent, and/or pack the silver too tightly. I try to only pack 2-3 pieces per compartment and haven't gotten rust spots. I also like to use the "heated" drying cycle on the dishwasher and it seems to work. Also, don't wash them in a "heavy duty" cycle.
I love the design, it's modern, no hard edges (I agree with the other poster, she MUST have gotten fakes), and it's symmetrical (I'm a lefty, so "righty" (anything unsymmetrical) utensils are awkward). I've received compliments from multiple guests because they feel quite expensive (heavier utensils are a sign of quality--go to a diner if you want paperweight forks). The handles themselves are well-balanced and easy to use if you hold a fork properly. If they fall off of your plate, I suggest re-positioning them closer to the center of the plate.
Chicago Cutlery Fusion 2-Piece Knife Set (Parer/Partoku)
I'm even thinking of buying a second set!I had purchased the Fusion Partoku knife seperately for my own use. I loved it so much that I purchased this set for my daughter for Christmas. The balance and texture of the handle is perfect for all those who have come to my house and used it. The blade retains its sharp edge wonderfully. I wash and dry it religously and replace it in a plastic sheath before storage. My only complaint is that Chicago Cutlery seems to have ceased manufacturing these so I would buy them as soon as possible, if you can find them. My son was disappointed that he didn't get one as well. I also purchased a Fusion Santoku knife for her larger items. She is very proud of them.

Kitchen Aid used to be a brand name you could depend on to mean "quality". I think my mixer will last 100 years. Unfortunately, this knife set is not one of their better products. The knives are supposedly made from stainless steel, but if so it is very low grade, because these knives rust!!! Even running them through the dishwasher leaves little rust spots on them. I'm very disappointed by this purchase.Read Best Reviews of Kitchenaid 14-PC Fine Edge Forged Cutlery Set with Bonus Here
I can't say I have the same complaints as some of the other reviewers. The knife set is solid, and they knives are well balanced. I agree that the wood block isn't stellar, but it's not bad, and the knives don't crowd one another.Maybe they've changed the set over time, but my handles aren't rubber, I'd say they're a ceramic composite. Hard to the touch and smooth.
The knives are all quite sharp, and I haven't had any issues with dulling yet, though I've only had it for 4 months. Time will tell if they also rust like other users report, however I would hazard a guess that some user's issues with rust are due to running the knives through the dishwasher. It says on the box, and in the description online that the dishwasher is not recommended to clean the knives, which is common for any higher quality cookware.
Everyone will have their own expectations, but personally I find myself happy with the set, and variety of knives provided.

I received this set as a gift for Christmas. I use some of them, don't really use others... I take care of them as per the instructions that came with them. I mean, they are knives so it's not rocket science, right???Well, they are all rusting! The knives and the scissors. This is not a cheap set of knives and the blades are all rusting. I can't believe my eyes and it's embarrassing because when I have my mother over, she wonders why I'm not using them... Thinks her money went to waste but I don't want to embarrass her further by making her think she bought an inferior product. In the process now of trying to get a replacement to a completely different set because an entire set cannot be simply defective and must be poorly made. Wish I could get a refund and buy a completely different brand.
I'd give it zero stars if that were an option. Don't waste your money.

It has a "cool" look but not to crazy like its brother which is red and blue. This Knife is a pain, The handle is to thin and really hard to grip. It's also really slick so when your hands are wet it is even harder to grip, the handle is also at to much of an angle making it not right. The blade gets rust spots on it "A lot" you must keep it extremely clean and away from any moisture.
I cleaned and dried mined before putting it back in the blade guard, the bald guard had a little moisture in it and the next morning it was rusted. it is however a very sharp Knife, easy tho hone. Just dont cut anything real hard or press done hard on the cutting board to get through anything it will dull fast.
