Because the outside edges of this spoon aren't sufficiently polished, it feels like the edges are cutting the inside of your mouth with each spoonfull.

I bought six spoons exactly like this at Wal-Mart, where they were priced at a buck each. They're nothing special, I suppose, but they are very good for eating soup and chili. The edges of my spoons are smooth and don't cut my tongue, as another reviewer said they did to his.

We bought this pattern 30 years ago for our wedding. The pic looks the same, but the spoon (and fork) are comparatively lightweight and lacking the buffed finish of the original; feels tinny in your hand. I would have been happy to pay more. I really don't think it's reasonable that the price 30 years later should be the same. Buying online will take a hit if it is typified by this kind of pictorial representation posing to be the original item. We'll save these for the picnic basket and continue looking for the well made original.

I entertain a lot and many times I serve steak, ever eat that with plastic? Sucks, Sam's solution, sucks too! I have found my solution with these great quality utensils! Some of the reviews speak of rough edges, I have not experienced any of this and have had several compliments regarding how nice they are. Nice weight, nice balance and finish. Highly recommended!
