NEW Model 1729 CUTCO Petite Carvers with 6¾" High Carbon Stainless blades with patented Double-D®

I have had a set of Cutco Knives for over 20 years. I love them very much. The fact that the handles are not wood and I can wash them in the dishwasher is wonderful. I lost my petite carver somewhere about a year ago. I was so heart broken, it was my favorite of the set. Just the right size for everything. I carved with it, cut up vegetables with it and especial sliced cheese with it. So glad my husband got me a replacement for my birthday.

I was interested in this knife after a neighbor's son did a summer job selling Cutco products. The cutting edge is excellent! the only problem is that after using heavier German blades I found the blade on this knife too flexible. For slicing tomatoes it is perfect, good for crusty bread. For cutting hard cheese or thick butternut squash not my first choice. I'll have to try a heavier Cutco knife for those tasks.
