I love having sharp knives in the kitchen. I wash my knives in the dishwasher, which I know dulls knives. Every few times I cut up food, I sharpen my knife with this sharpener. It's quick and easy to use and works really well. A tip is to put it on the edge of the counter so that you don't have the chance to cut your countertop on the way down. I highly recommend this product!
I learned about Dexter-Russel knives a few years ago. Ones I've bought so far are sharp on arrival, hold an edge well, easy to resharpen and very cost-effective cutlery. I already have, and love, the white-plastic-handle version of this knife. This wooden-handle version looks like it will become a favorite at my fish cleaning station. Just wish I could have bought it with a sheath.

I got this sharpening steel to touch up my knives between sharpenings. It is great and puts a fine edge on my knives. It actually sharpens knife blades, rather then resetting the edge like a normal steel does. Just a few stroke and you are in business.

I've purchased a Henkel's cleaver several years ago and though it is a good cleaver I never thought I would get one under $30.00 that would surpass a brand named cleaver! This is a fantastic, heavy cleaver: chops off heads, feet, and body parts quickly and efficiently. However it quickly becomes obvious that the money saved was in the quality of the metal. It will very quickly rust and discolor from blood and other liquids. No big deal. Just scrub it off, wash it, dry it, and its ready for use again. Great cleaver. Takes a razor edge but doesn't hold it as well as a higher end German knife (much less a Shun, japanese). This thing will replace your 8-10" chef knife if you let it. If you can handle the weight this puppy does it for you. You can chop, slice, mince, cleave, scoop, turn, beat and even use it as a spatula. As a line chef this was my go to during busy rushes, allowing me to perform a myriad of tasks with just one tool. Keep your steel handy though, the cleaver takes a great edge but is soft and needs frequent, light steeling on a fine steel to avoid having to hone it after heavy use....
If you like to make pizzas at home, or even cook a lot of frozen pizzas, this is THE tool you need. Forget those so-called round-wheeled pizza cutters. After the first 8-12 times, they become too dull and you always end up moving the cheese and toppings instead of cutting them appropriately. This twin handled, mezzaluna-shaped pizza cutter is what you need. It's what the professionals use (or should use). Yes, you might get by with some kitchen scissors for cutting, but even they are not as good as this baby. Cut pizza with this, and you'll throw all of those old pizza cutters in the trash.

The item they delivered was not precisely as pictured. Specifically, the one in the image has the nice, riveted handles, while the one delivered had the cheap, molded rubber handles. That being said, it's not a bad piece of equipment when all is said and done. This knife is wonderful!! I wish I had bought this item years ago. It is so sharp and cuts my pizza's in seconds. All of the toppings stay where I placed them and it's long enough to cut a 14 or 16 inch pizza. The pizza wheel drags everything to one side.
Very nice set of knives. Keep their sharpness and are in a nicely finished cherry wood block. Most sets are held in an oak-colored block, but this dark wood looks very good on the counter.

I bought a set of Cuisinart knives in 2007. Recently they developed large cracks in the handles. I contacted Cuisinart by email and was directed to another company who manufacturers the knives for Cuisinart. After a couple of emails back and forth, I was directed to a website and allowed to pick a similar set for replacement. (The set I purchased was no longer available.) It's a great looking set but the blades dull fast. We have to sharpen the steak knives almost every time. I like it and recommend it but be prepared to use the included sharpener.
This is indeed a typical fine product from Victorinox but as a carving knife goes it's probably a little thin. (I had asked for the granton edge knife for Christmas and received this one instead from my wonderful wife.) The knife cuts easily but weaves off course as you slice through the meat. It's light as a feather and will work great with a bit more concentration on my part. Great conversation piece, too, when you're carving for a crowd.
I believe this is my first product review ever-I was inspired to do so out of pure loathing for this product. The tension is so low that the blade wanders completely out of control. I ended up about 2" off course within 10" while splitting a pig. It was so bad that I went back to my $10 hack saw, which did the job infinitely better. To add insult to injury, I was badly cut by the back of the blade (not the teeth) while trying to stabilize this noodle of a blade. The sawzall is a much better way to go. Caveat emptor...

The handle is not very secure, and has bad geometry. The blade is very thin and bends easily. I bought a more expensive model from a different retailer and there is a huge difference in quality. I did not purchase the cheapest 25" butcher saw buy far. I assumed the Weston brand and the fact that this butcher saw is almost twice the price of most of the saws available at Amazon, that I was purchasing a good product, I was wrong. The saw looked impressive out of the packaging, but during the initial washing, I noticed that the blade was extremely flexible. The first cut was the backbone at the top of the neck. The blade was at the tightest, most tension setting and the blade was so loose the blade flexed 90 degrees. We could not get a straight cut and the blade kept getting tangled between bone, cartilage and the gristle. The four of us have about 100 years butchering experience and two of us are some of the best "fix-it" guys in the county and we could not get this saw to work. We ended using a sawsall for all the large bone cuts. We all had smaller meat saws that we were able to use and they all worked fine.
My chef's knife had been stored with the same paper sleeve it came in more than 30 years ago. Lots of tape had been added over the years to hold it together and the point of the knife always stuck out. This fits perfectly.
These knives are most definitely authentic and are simply stunning. There are certainly imposters out there, but these are the real deal and worth every penny.

These are beautiful knives. They are made in France by the top producer of authentic French Laguiole cutlery. They have a good weight and balance. The blade is beautifully forged in a nice heavy (but not to heavy) weight and is etched with decorative scroll on the exposed edge in the handle. The handles are rich-looking and beautifully finished in olive wood, which is relatively light in color with a nice grain and will probably darken with use. Dubost has other styles of handles in this otherwise same knife listed as "mineral', "pearlized ivory" and various colors that are nice but plastic, and in stainless, but these are the most elegant looking. There are many less expensive "Laguiole" style knives available (and Dubost also make a cheaper under $100 for a set of 6 line of knives in China under their brand but with thinner stamped instead of forged steel blades). It holds all of my Wusthof knives in place, even the poultry shears. The lenghth and width is adequate. I like the black color. It looks sleek and clean.
I think this is a fine whisk. It does it's job, and I like the look and feel of the sleek stainless-steel handle. The only downside: the handle is heavier than the whisk, so it is not possible to leave it in the mixing bowl (unless the sides of the bowl are fairly tall) without it flipping out of the bowl onto the counter. Aside from that, no complaints.

Most of its products are used in commercial kitchens.
My kitchen has no drawers so I hoped this would be an easy way to store my silverware on the counter. The holder is very pretty, not too big, and does hold a good amount of silverware. However, the tines of the forks got stuck in the wire mesh bottom, the silverware would slide out the sides between those open slits, and the interior dividers weren't large enough to keep the silverware nicely compartmentalized. I think this is a better product for parties, but for day to day use I found it didn't fit my needs.

Nice birch wood handled knife with a classic design. The handle is round, with the blade tang pressed into a round slot and secured with a ring. So far so good. However, the blade tip is rounded unlike Dexter-Russell's plastic-handled equivalent (S121) which has a sharper point. It may not be not the Sani-Safe stain-free high carbon steel. If it's the traditional steel, it will rust if you don't rinse and wipe it immediately after being used. It's not bad, but it looks odd. I don't know about you, but I typically don't have any place to rinse off a knife if I'm at an oyster farm shucking oysters. A lot of people just jam an oyster knife in ice between uses. Dester-Russell's description is that the model 23 may come with the stain-free or "classic" steel blade. If you manage to get the stain-free version, then life will be good.
I got one of these knives as a gift 15 years ago. Was thrilled when I found them one line. I liked them so much I got some for my son who is a chef, and always trying to get mine! They fit my hands so well I can use them longer than any other knife I have ever tried. Still sharp after 15 years. Was glad to get some spares just in case.
