I ordered this for my wife after she used one on a visit to our friends in Arizona. Perfect tool to slice tomatoes for sandwiches. Smooth cuts without crushing the tomato makes thin slices a breeze! This is a fantastic knife! I must admit that I have become a total Pampered Chef snob in the last six months or so as everything is just so worth the price. This item is no exception. It is the perfect size and works wonderfully. I have just ordered an extra one as my husband gets cross if our current one is in the dishwasher when he "needs" it.Color Coated Santoku Knife

The Serrated Cheese Knife
This one also works beautifully and fully as well as the much more expensive cheese knives I own (and better than some).
In my opinion it is a great buy and very useful and safe to use, even for people who have grip problems. We have this long serrated knife as well as two of the short ones, and we love using them. They're our go-to knives for cheeses, cheesecake, and even layer cakes.

THIS WILL BE SHORT BUT ALL I WANT TO SAY IT'S NICE TO BUY A PRODUCT THAT DOES WHAT IT ADVERTISES There's not much to say other than it's a plastic knife. Cheese doesn't ever stick, but you have to put a good amount of force on it. I think a metal one with the ripple design would be amazing, I wouldn't personally recommend this to anyone though.Works fine. The cheese does not stick to the ceramic. Better than a steel knife for most medium density cheeses such as cheddar, colby, etc.Ultimate Edge 2001-EVOR18 piece Knife Case with Full Accessory Compartment

I've been using this sharpener on my knives for 2 years now. I love it.I just bought another one as a gift for my dad. I don't know how much
more of a 'testimonial' a guy can give a tool than to have and use it
for two years and then buy one as a gift for his dad. They just work.
I'm not a great knife sharpener. I just can't get one razor sharp, where it
can cut the hairs on my hand/arm. I've tried to be. I know guys who can do it.
I bought a knife sharpening book, and bought a motorized whet stone that also has
a leather wheel. And I can absolutely get a knife VERY sharp with it. So sharp that
the edge will 'stick' to my fingernail at very sharp angles from both directions
(ie: doing test with both left and right hands). BUT I can get a knife JUST as
sharp with this little tool, which is MUCH cheaper, handier, faster, and easier to use.
I love the fact that it doesn't "load up" much, and stop sharpening, as regular
stones and ceramics do. Doing mostly knives, I don't use the coarse plate much.
About twice a year (after sharpening something like 15 knives), I clean the medium and
fine plates by putting some gun oil on them and brushing with a toothbrush, then
wiping with a rag. Voila. Good as new. And even that isn't absolutely necessary.
They work fine with no cleaning at all for a long long time. Perhaps not AS good
as when they were new, or after a light oil cleaning, but they still work.
OXO Good Grips 2-Piece Peeler/Parer Set
Peeler: This is wonderful for peeling potatoes, as the easy-to-grip handle and swivel blade help you to comfortably maneuver around bumpy and slippery surfaces.
Knife: Since purchasing the set 4 months ago, my knife has stayed incredibly sharp and is able to cut through everything from crunchy carrots to smooshy tomatoes.
Here's why the set didn't get the "5" rating: The pair should be hand washed and *not* put in the dishwasher. The knife got a tad rusty after running it through a cycle. Note: This was easy to correct with a Brillo pad and a little elbow grease.
However, I don't think you should let this "diswasher drama" sway you from purchasing this set, as the benefits *far* outweigh the limitations.

The paring knife has proved quite good, but I cannot find strong enough terms to express my disappointment in the peeler. I can't understand all the recommendations. It requires an undue amount of pressure to peel at all, digs chunks out of the vegetable and doesn't peel smoothly. It feels as though I've used a rather dull knife instead of a highly recommended kitchen tool. Even my small crew of teenage peelers have opted to use our old one from the grocery store. It has no curved edge to remove eyes and although the handle is very comfortable, it is otherwise useless.Read Best Reviews of OXO Good Grips 2-Piece Peeler/Parer Set Here
Hi! I bought this set soon after I began having problems with my hands about four years ago. I thank my lucky stars that I did! I later discovered I had rheumatoid arthritis, so these kitchen tools have been a Godsend. The peeler especially has made it possible for me to be able to cook many things I had simply given up on previously. I had experienced so much pain before due to peelers which required too much force to use, partly due to dull blades and rigid blade formats. This peeler is so sharp, and is so clever with its freely swiveling motion, that it peels smoothly and swiftly; if anything, one almost has to pay attention not to remove too much when peeling because it *is* so effortless! The paring knife is splendid also. For me, with my arthritis, the handles on both tools are really beautifully designed, and enable me to cook even on some of my worst days. I always handwash my utensils and have never had any problems with rust, as some reviewers have mentioned, and both utensils have remained very sharp all these years. These were the first OXO tools I bought, and I was so enamored that I have since bought more. I would probably buy the whole OXO line if I were rich enough! I am pleased that somebody thought of people with arthritis --and good design in general --at long last.I have had numerous peelers and all of them would hurt my hand after peeling a few potatoes. Not anymore because I bought an OXO Good Grip. This is hands down the best peeler I've ever owned. I can now peel a whole bag of potatoes without pain in my hands. I would recommend this brand to anyone.WMF 9-1/4-Inch Tomato Knife

You can also lifT a tomato slice with the end of the knife and slide it off onto your plate or bread. It's also excellent for spreading the mayonnaise on the bread when making BLTs or even just a tomato sandwich. I'm purchasing another for a Christmas Gift. This tomato knife is simply wonderful. Zwilling J.A. Henckels Four Star 6-Inch Stainless-Steel Slicing Knife
I have yet found reason or purpose to buy beyond the following edge products (all Henckel but bread knife excluded):
-10" chef's knife
-6" chef's knife
-6" utility knife
-3.5" paring knife
-boning knife (not filet)
-take apart shears
-Granton edge carving knife and fork
+Forschner-Victorinox bread knife (sorry, Henckel)
Ok I did succumb to buying a matching fork, but when you have guests over for dinner, it looks nicer and the fork won't wear out. Anything beyond the regular handle is higher profit for the knife company; if you are holding you knife correctly, you won't need the higher cost handles.
I use both a smooth metal honing rod and a 1200 grit ceramic honing rod ($30 from Edge Pro unless you feel like paying someone more). I use the smooth metal prior to each use; ceramic once in a while, Edge Pro once every 3-6 months and even then only the two ceramic stones (unless the edge became bent on something).
Don't put in dishwasher...stuff bumps together, other dishware thrown on top of the knife, and could damage the edge.
Use only end grain cutting boards...I have truly found that it does not degrade the edge as much as plastic resin, or other types of wood cutting boards...Amazon has very good prices on Catskill brand. Read up on for more on cutting boards and try different ones out for yourself as have I.
Since I mentioned names, neither I nor my family have any financial interest or exchange with any of the companies referred to above. Just a well-informed consumer who continues to improve culinary skills by education and practice. We bought this knife several years ago, and since then we have been buying other Four Star knives from open stock. This particular one is our favorite knife. We use it daily, usually several times. It keeps an edge, looks good, is comfortable in the hand, and is just the right size for most of our kitchen tasks. Very handy.
Some time ago we accidentally left it too near a burner on our electric range, and the handle melted horribly. Even so, we still use it in preference to any of our other knives including any of our other Henckel's knives. Guess what my wife will get for the next gift I buy her? Yep, this knife. Highly recommended.

OK, I have other Henckels knives, and like them all, but this is the knife that quickly became the one that I turn to first for all but the biggest slicing/chopping tasks. The size of this knife is just right. The blade is a good length for so many garden variety kitchen tasks, and the handle and heft just feel good and solid in the hand. The superior sharpness has been easy to maintain with an occasional swipe on the steel--even after much use. I like and use it so much that I have started giving it as a gift item. Ultimately, manual sharpening with a stone is slow but gets you razor sharpness.
Not recommended. You have plenty of other options.
Lower price, just as fast, sharper edge, easy to use = Accusharp
Higher price, slightly faster sharpening, more versatile, very very sharp but not razor sharp, easy to useChef's choice
Similar price (depends on brand), slower sharpening, requires skill, knowledge and practice but with all that you get the sharpest edge = good quality whetstones use the water stones less messy than the oil stones but both are effectiveI've used it for about a year. it gets a knife sharp enough for sushi work in about 2 minutes. Don't push down too hard or you might damage the stone wheels. Sooner or later you'll have to get new wheels. Don't know how easy that is.

The Hubby and I have an agreement. If he wants good vittles to appear before him on a regular basis, he must make sure my knives are sharp. To that end and because he loves gadgets & food, he owns several whet stones and knife hones that take way too much time for me to use. He bought me this to do quickie honing sessions on my knives that take the most abuse (santoku, paring and slicing knives). It is easy to use and generally does a good job. It is not all that good at taking gouges out of knives. Nor will it help you guys who think that just because those food network people drag their sharp edges across the cutting board to scape things into a pile that you can do it too (Read: it can't help you if you square off your edge). However, if you take reasonable care of your knives and understand proper knife care, this is an awesome tool to have. It is especially helpful for those inbetween knife sharpenings and when you are chopping a lot of food.Read Best Reviews of Black & Silver Plus Knife Sharpener Here

It makes dull knifes sharper, maybe not quite shaving-sharp, but reasonably sharp. Plastic construction feels fairly solid, though sometimes I wasn't quite sure if I had the angle right through the guides, especially on curved blades. There's about an inch toward the handle that the sharpener can't really get to with the cover on. Would be nice to have a 3rd fine wheel for honing (the two included ones are medium & coarse). This is my first sharpener of it's kind, so I wasn't really sure what to expect and don't really have a point of reference.

This is a great garden knife! I use it for weeding, planting, digging out tough roots, edging, etc. Unlike so many garden hand tools this one is made to not bend or break no matter how much stress you put on it. I like it so much I have two of them in different areas of my garden. I don't care where it was made. Unlike some other folks who wrote reviews I sure don't think of this knife as a weapon even though my dandelions might not agree with me. Buy one. You will love it. Incidentally, I bought a Fiskar's garden knife first. It rusts a bit, although still useful. It is cheaper, but the Oxo is so much better.Read Best Reviews of OXO Good Grips Garden Knife with Sheath Here
My OXO Garden Knife was advertised accurately and true. It is well designed and comfortable to work with in the garden. I like it's big, hefty, strong utility blade and the metal work. The sheath is just perfect to attach to my side.It is well suited for self defense also in that reminds me of a Japanese Tanto design. The knife itself is fantastic great for pulling weeds, dividing perennials, planting annuals, bulbs, veggies, etc. It's a very thick piece of stainless steel and a nice grip. I don't expect any problems with it. Just don't lose the thing. It does have the hole in the handle so you can hang it up if you'd like. The sheath isn't all that great, it tends to swivel a bit when clipped to your belt or pants pocket. I'd definitely recommend this tool, a must for any gardener.

Pineapple Slicer And Corer - Looking For A Top Of The Line Pineapple Slicer Corer? Why Just Look At
The problem with the "on-sale" pineapples is they are usually very small.
My old pineapple slicing tool (which is now in the back of the drawer) had too large of a diameter cutting surface.
This new tool is about a half-inch to nearly an inch smaller in diameter.
This allows me to slice and core all of my smaller pineapples without having to:
A: Slice my hand
or
B: Waste time cleaning up the edges of the newly sliced pineapple that still have some outer pineapple husk on them.I love my pineapple slicer! It works perfect every time. I like to use it in front of guests because they are always amazed at how perfectly it pulls out the rings of pineapple while leaving the core. If I am making a smoothie, I will cut up the remaining core and throw that in for extra fiber. I enjoy this so much, I will be giving these as gifts.
Zwilling J.A. Henckels Paring Knife
Wusthof Ikon Cook's Knife, Blackwood
Aesthetically, the new design is more pleasing, and has modern, flowing lines. The classic Wusthof red sticker is formed into the blade itself, so no more of the sticker coming off during washing! Also, the tang extends all the way to the bottom of the handle, ending in a sleek metal cap. Lastly, the bolster is much thinner, making the knife easier to sharpen.
Out of the box, my Ikon was as sharp as my Shun Nakiri. A few swipes on my steel made it even more so. After an hour of cutting, I greatly appreciated the new ergonomically designed handle. It really makes prepping much more comfortable. The overall balance is skewed slightly towards the handle, but not noticeably so.
In conclusiona great update on the Classic line, with functional improvements. This is now the first knife I reach for from my block.I don't have experience with other high quality knives, this is my first. I have worked half a year in a restaurant using low quality knives that don't get really sharp and get dull fast, and compared to that, this knife is a lot more sharp, ergonomic/light, and therefore require less effort to use.
I was very pleased when I tried to cut some potatoes, with a little slicing motion it cut through a potato almost like it was fluff. Slicing many things is almost effortless, but the thickness of the blade does slow you down sometimes with things that don't want to "give way", like when preparing an onion to be diced by making multiple, incomplete cuts into it. I don't consider this a "con", as the thickness does make it more durable than thinner and more acute angle blades.
Since it's pretty much all I could wish for in a 6" chef knife, what I'm about to say aren't really complaints, just things I think people should consider if they are looking at this particular knife.
1. I have medium-size hands for a man, and this knife is too small for me to comfortably hold it with thumb and index finger pinching the blade. The long contoured handle makes it so you can grip it with good control and less fatigue... including the popular one with all fingers behind the bolster. When I need more precision, I pinch the bolster, but 90% of the time it is unnecessary. If you are a fan of pinching the blade like me, you may prefer the 8 or 9" chef knife. If you have large hands, don't get this knife as your "go to" knife! Unless you actually are comfortable with a 6" chef knife as your primary knife.
2. I BELIEVE that the blade is made of the same composition as the classic ikon black and classic ikon creme, but classic ikon black does have that ugly red sticker formed into the blade. If I am correct, the blackwood handle increases the price considerably. I personally don't think it's that pretty, my knife (all should be unique) is darker than most pictures online, and in person you can see micro-streaks and micro-pores. The wood should be treated with food grade mineral oil once a month, $2 a bottle at the pharmacy. The plastic handle on the classic ikon black and creme I presume is very high quality and durable, and should be more hygienic and require less care than the blackwood handle.
3. This knife cuts totally different from dull knives. With a dull knife, you make a lot of forceful movements, and know you don't have to be that careful because for most cuts to get anywhere you have to apply heavy pressure and a heavy slicing motion. This dullness may give you the habit of thinking a blade can't cut without force so you aren't that mindful of your food or non-knife hand. With a sharp knife, positioning the blade for a cut must be done delicately with a lot of awareness of where your food and non-knife hand are, or you risk messing up the food or really injuring your hand. For most things to be cut, all it takes is a slicing motion, often with you actually pulling away from even the weight of the knife to minimize slicing into the cutting board. It's truly that sharp, and if you don't want such a sharp object in your house, do not get this knife.
