When I worked as a cook for an organic grocery store, we used these mats to keep our heavy-duty cutting boards from slipping on the stainless steel work surfaces. They were very durable and were easy to wipe down at the end of the day. Not at all what I thought it would be and it won't look good hanging around your kitchen. I haven't tried it with a cutting board but because of aesthetics I won't.
