Chicago Cutlery Essentials 8-Inch Chef Knife

I thought this might be a low-price branch of the Chicago Cutlery brand but it is a well built, solidly constructed knife with a nice balance. The steel may be slightly thinner than some, but it holds a sharp edge well. [It has the Chicago Cutlery "tm" logo, but there is no marking stating country of manufacture.]

I use these knives in my cooking classes. Great quality product at a very affordable price. I've purchased about 10 of these knives for our partner agencies to use to run their own cooking classes.

The knife is quite nice, but the handle is very narrow and small. If your hands are small, this knife might work well for you, but otherwise, the balance feels weird.
