Presto Bread Slicing Guide

Presto Bread Slicing GuideI own one and bought it used. This is one of the best bread slicing guides ever made and is unfortunately out of production. The inclined angle helps keep the bread firmly lodged and the crumb catcher works. There are a few other brands made today, but they're all crumby. (Heh.)

When I use this guide to slice bread, I get uniform slices. Using an electric knife to slice the bread, makes it a quick job.

This item is no longer available new. It is solid and works very well. You need a knife with a 9 to 10 in blade for the best outcome.

The angled pitch helps to keep the loaves in place. Just enough flexibility of the guides to make it easier to slice. The grooves go past the bottom of the loaf, so you can cut it all of the way through. The thickness is very appropriate for bread machine breads. The alternate colors make it (a little) easier to make thicker slices, for light/airy breads, or Texas Toast. Hint If you want slices with an "in-between" thickness, you can put your hand between the loaf and the end plate to make your slices 1.5 thickness (versus 1 or 2), then take your hand away to let it slide back for the next slice, and keep alternating.

What I've been looking for for years. The slices are even and my Sunbeam bread machine loaves aren't too big for it. Now I'm working on better bread!
