The wood is beautiful--nice enough to hang up in my dining room like a piece of art. The leather cord, which is attached through a metal grommet, makes displaying it easy. It's exactly the right size for the baguettes I buy and the guides make for perfectly-sized pieces of bread. Most of all, I like that all the crumbs from cutting remain on the tray so it's great for serving neatly at the table. I used to have to find a cutting board big enough to cut a baguette and then put the pieces in a basket, but this is easy and the pieces remain fresher since they butt up against each other until served. I highly recommend this!
