Update: I also own the 4 inch spatula. I love it. It has a bendy, agile quality that is perfect for spreading condiments on bread. However, the four inch spatula seems overmatched when it comes to stiff cream cheese. I don't consider this a flaw, really. If the blade were strengthened for hard cream cheese and cold butter, it would compromise the bendiness that gives this instrument its deft, jaunty quality. The blade is thin enough to cut, but not sharp like a knife. Because of the short, thin blade, this tool is necessarily unbalanced versus the handle. Just be aware that you might need something sturdier if you deal in cold, hard cheese.
These spatulas are suitable for use with magnetic retainers. I've come to loathe my aluminum utensils because they cannot be rapidly deployed from a magnetic rack. What is there to say? This is another great Global product. I use it just as much or more than my global knives. When it comes to buttering toast, or making a PB&J, this thing is awesome. Matches my other Global products, which is really the only reason to spend this kind of money on a spatula...I ordered it by mistake. Glad I did. I am amazed how much I use it for all kinds of stuff. Sandwiches, spreading various foods, stirring things, cooking. Nice tool. I have several Global products and like them all, Global makes very high quality products.
