Martha Stewart Collection Santoku Knife, 5"

Martha Stewart Collection Santoku Knife, 5'Bought this on sale at a major department store. I like it so much, I have splurged on a 7" santoku at 8 times the price from a well-respected German manufacturer. It's probably just as good as the Martha Stewart 7" santoku, but it was the holidays so I asked for gift cards to make the purchase. Plus it came with a special santoku sharpener, as they have a smaller angle than regular knives. Fiscally irresponsible, but oh well, you only live once. I especially like the 5" santoku for chopping garlic and herbs quick and neat. It keeps it's sharp edge for quite a while. Worthwile purchase! **UPDATE** 16Feb13 this santoku has developed a chink missing from the sharp edge. I've been sharpening it with a Wusthof santoku sharpener, so I don't know how this happened. When I have money to blow, I'll replace it with one from Wusthof. What do you expect from garbage made in China. Oh, well...

The entire set of knives is great for the average kitchen. We lost the 5-inch Santoku knife (someone left it in the pizza box and it was thrown out) and was able to order another from Macy's through Amazon. The knives are easy to handle and are simple to sharpen.
