Linden Sweden Anita Small Slice and Serve Set
Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Four Star II 8-Piece Knife Set with Block
* 5 inch Santoku Knife
Great chopping knife for mincing, slicing and cutting through bones like nothing. I use this as an all purpose knife. I'm thinking about buying another because I love it so much. I have used the santoku knife to cut through raw chicken bone like it's nothing. Even after a good deal of abuse, the blade of the santoku knife is a little chipped and worn but still does an amazing job of cutting.
* 8-inch chef's knife
I use it to cut through large heads of vegetables. It long enough to cut through a cabbage head easily and with little effort. Can slice a tomato easily without squishing it.
* 5-inch serrated utility
Great for cutting through bread and hard crust.
* 4-inch paring
Good for peeling carrots, skin of tomato and other small jobs
* 2-3/4-inch paring/boning
Good for cutting meat and meat from bones.
* Kitchen Shears
So very useful. I use it from cutting open packages to even cutting up herbs.I really like these knives! Definitely better then Cutco knives. Unlike other reviews I like the knife block. Its bamboo and looks modern. Very sharp and the handles feel great. I also ordered the matching steak knives and my only complaint is 2 too many slots for steak knives. Other then that ggreat purchase

I got mine the other say. I tried to cancel my order but it was too late. I was going to get the (cheaper) older model before this one (Henckel Four Star) since one of the reviewers claims that they're just about the same except for the fancy metal. I couldn't tell the difference but this one looked more appealing and classic to me. And since I already have the 8" breadknife l accepted the order and l love the set. However, the wood block has a small chip right in front. I thought about returning it but it's too much hassle and I wanted to use it right away. Overall the woodblock looked nice than I thought as it's not a typical wood rather a bamboo wood block.Want Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Four Star II 8-Piece Knife Set with Block Discount?
the Henckels four star II set is a great set of knives. The blades are sharp, the ergonomics are great. And priced at $280 for an 8 piece set (5 knives) they are sure to sell fast.All top knives are dish washer safe, but you dont want to put these in the dishwasher, hand wash and hand dry for best life.
The block is good quality so the person complaining about the sticket on the block should probably think about being more logical in their comments.
Ginkgo Lafayette 20-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set, Service for 4
I ordered this set to replace some missing pieces.
NOT a match
I read the product description 18/0 and thought it was a typo because further down on the page in the product description it says, " Crafted of durable 18/10 stainless steel and designed to be used on a daily basis"
I'd send them back, they are cheap compared to what I had, but my hubby already had thrown them in the dishwasher and we were already using them before I really had a chance to check them out.
I could pick them out just by weight alone...We got the 45 piece set for our wedding a few years ago and I ordered this 20-piece set to add to our collection now while it's still on the market. Regardless of what another reviewer claims, this is the same high quality stainless steel as the original set I received, which I consider to be very high quality. This silverware is strong, you don't have to worry about bending the spoon when you're spooning out ice hard ice cream. We had a spoon get nicked in the garbage disposal once and it only made a very minor mark, which impressed me.
Through the years we've had many friends/family mention that they like our silverware

I received three sets of this flatware set. We love to entertain and often run out of flatware when we have guests over. We received these as a wedding present. I saw this set at a local kitchen store and fell in love with them. If I were buying them i would have bought locally but because we wanted to ask for them as a gift we purchased them from Amazon. There were some issues with shipping. The company sent the wrong set. Since they were a gift our friend took care of returning them and receiving the correct set. From my understanding they were very timely in sending her the correct set. We have been using them for about one month now and they have gone through countless washes in the dishwasher. So far they have held up well. They are perfect for everyday use but still add a touch of class with the beautiful hammered handles. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a new flatware set.Read Best Reviews of Ginkgo Lafayette 20-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set, Service for 4 Here

I would recommend to anyone with a Chantry.The Chantry is a great device to straighten knife blades. Contrary to some wording, these are not to sharpen a blade. They roll at an axis that re-aligns the already sharpened knife edge. I have very sharp kitchen knives. While I could use a steel to straighten the edge, my wife and kids are not as adapt. I bought a Chantry some 20 years ago. Replacing the rods is all I have to do. We all use it to keep the knives sharp. No guess work, no learning curve, no worries. I'd say this is as fool proof a system as I've seen.

DMT W6EP 6-Inch Diamond Whetstone Sharpener - Extra-Fine With Plastic Box
I tore open the package like a kid opening a gift on Christmas and immediately went to work on my mom's dull kitchen knives. After a few passes with the fine grit, I used this stone for a finishing edge. WOW! By following the simple directions, I resharpened every knife in my mom's knife block (9 knives of assorted sizes) in less than 20 minutes with a razor-sharp edge. And, I mean razor-sharp. In fact, I put such a sharp edge on these previously worthless knives that I inadvertently shredded a dish-scrubber-thingy while washing one of them without even noticing.
This product definitely works as advertised. This stone is easy to use, stable and compact. Plus, it doesn't wear out after 20 passes like some other diamond carbide sharpeners. It's money well spent.
If you were on the fence about getting this stone, don't hesitate just get it. I'd even recommend getting this stone along with the fine grit (at a minimum). You won't be sorry.This is the SAME Extra Fine whetstone from DMT as the W6E except it has a Plastic bpox in lieu of wood for $17 less. I already had their 600 grit stone (the red one); the results were okay, but not great. In particular, I had two knives that came from the factory dull and stayed that way ever since. I took the 1200 grit stone (the green one) from the box and got to work. It takes practice. You must maintain the proper angle between knife and stone. Soon they were all shaving sharp. Now my kitchen work is easier and the results are better. I'll try it on my tools next. These stone never dish out they always remain flat.You want sharp knives? Don't hesitate buy this product!

It's called a whetstone but really it's a hollow plastic box with a perforated metal plate on top and a seperate plastic baseplate with rubber feet. Sounds cheap, but works really well. I don't know how long it would last as it's not like a thick stone that is gradually ground down it's just the single diamond-encrusted plate. That said, it is diamond and did a great job of sharpening my santoku ... will be working through the rest of my kitchen knives and then when I get the Fine and Coarse versions of this stone in a few weeks will work on my KA-BAR, SOG tomahawk and other utility knives. Would be nice if the stone or holder said "Extra Fine" on it in case I can't remember the colour-coding once I have the set of stones, but rectified with a Sharpie. Now I can get rid of that damn useless honing rod!Want DMT W6EP 6-Inch Diamond Whetstone Sharpener - Extra-Fine With Plastic Box Discount?
In the past I used a fine diamond stone to get a respectable edge on my knives. Followed by a finishing Arkansas Stones of varying hardness from medium to hard depending on just how much work needed to be done to achieve a good edge. This stone takes allot of time out and hassle out of my traditional process by getting the edges on my knives either at or very close to the final stage. In fact for the knives in my kitchen this does everything I need, on my 12 piece set of Mundial high carbon knives I can get a very useable edge with a minute or so devoted to each blade, no additional steps needed. As for as my collection of EDC, hunting and tactical this stone can get these knives dangerously sharp. It even puts a sharp edge with little effort on high tech steels like SV-30 ATS-34 and 1326 Sandvik in a minute or two on each.To get to a final edge (or at least very close) I use this stone these day's. Normally I'll use it wet to finish sharpening a knife. Sometimes with extremely dull edges I'll start off with a coarse diamond stone then go to a fine diamond stone depending on what is needed, then finish with this stone. I do use it dry often, mostly to get to a get to a finished edge or touching up an edge.
In my opinion the method of using traditional methods is still going to produce the best edge possible, but for most of us this sharpener is a small investment for the results and time saved. If this stone doesn't get you to what you consider a finished edge, it will get you close, and save you allot of time.
Over all This sharpener does a great job on everything I've tried to sharpen with it. Until recently the only way I found to get the edge on a blade to my satisfaction was with a couple Arkansas Stones, which can get you a scalpel type edge on your blade, but it takes time a great eye and patience. This stone will not get you same results, but will get you close. These days I just don't have the time get that edge on my knives with a traditional stone, and the diamond stones get me close to that edge in minutes instead of hours.
I would recommend this sharpener to anyone and everyone trying to save time and still get great results on your knives. This is a perfect stone to clean up the edge on a semi-sharp knife, or to put a good edge on a new knife sharp in minutes. Great product and highly recommended.

My boyfriend bought this because we're pig-item collectors. I'm currently using the pig as a pen-holder, and he threw out the spreader because it didn't match the coloring of the big pig/it looks like a dog. Thanks!Tom Douglas by Pinzon Kai 5-Inch Stainless-Steel Boning Knife
I have researched knives thoroughly throughout the years because I cook a lot and prefer good quality long lasting knives. I have also attended info sessions, classes and seminars about knives. Currently, I own a set of Cutco knives.
I was pleasantly surprised with the out-of-the-box sharpness of the blade. Though, it remains to be seen how long it retains its sharpness. Although this is a boning knife, I also used it to cut tomatoes and it performed very well. It sliced through cleanly and perfectly and did not squish down the tomatoes. I compared this knife with its Cutco equivalent, the trimmer, which is has similar uses as this boning knife. In this instance, it even performed a bit better than my Cutco knife that is used for cutting tomatoes. It may have been because the Kai knife was out-of-the-box sharp and I have used the Cutco knife for 6 years (it still doesn't need sharpening). As a boning knife, it performed well. It was easy to trim the chicken, but mostly due to the sharpness of the knife.
The handle is made out of rubber, or rather a 'Nonslip black polymer', and has ridges to prevent your hands from slipping. In my opinion, the handle feels a bit flimsy and is very light. Further, it is not ergonomic, so I felt it did not fit the contours of my hand. The entire knife is very lightweight and I prefer some weight on knives as, for me, makes for easier handling. Frankly, you need some weight in your knives, especially the Chef's knife. The extra weight gives the knife extra stability. I worry that the knife is merely relying in sharpness, rather than also utilizing its weight to cut through stuff.
The blade is secured in a brown piece which is attached to the 'rubber', sorry, 'polymer' handle. There is also no tang showing. This means that it seems that the steel blade does not run through the length of the handle. Also, the blade is not riveted throughout the handle. The rivets are metal pins, usually 3, that secure the blade to the handle. (There is a rivet, of sorts, though it is made out of plastic and seems to be purely for aesthetics.) This is a problem because it the blade can separate from the handle through use and force. Hence, I question its durability. Other high quality knives (Henckles, Wüstof) secure the blade throughout the handle. I tried to researched this a bit, and no where did I read that this knife was riveted through, so I can only go by what I see as I examine the knife.
Better knives with the same or similar price are the Victorinox Boning Knife or a Henckels Boning Knife.
Overall, this is a good every day use knife and good for tomatoes and deboning. It is flexible and easy to use. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Wow, what a great little knife ok, not really little. The handle is just the perfect shape and is easy to hold (which makes it easier to debone the meat and not the fingers). I did have to sharpen it, which I think I have done with every knife I have purchased, but I love it, think I will get another for when I have help in the kitchen.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Tom Douglas 5-inch Stainless-steel Boning Knife is a finely made piece of kitchen hardware. The knife consists of a 5-inch stainless-steel blade with about a 3-inch rubberized handle. The knife has a nice balance -it is light enough to work with quickly, yet heavy enough to feel sturdy in your hand and be capable of slicing through some meat. The blade itself is pretty sharp, as one would expect with a new knife out of the box. The rubberized handle makes the knife easy to grip without fear of it it slipping out of your hand.As the product name suggests, this is a boning knife, not a paring or butchers knife. For the purposes of deboning chicken, slicing through some steak, etc., this knife is up to the task and slices it with ease. More often than not, I usually use this knife to debone chicken. I've been using the knife for about two months now and have seen no signs of wear, and still slices as well as when I first received it.
In terms of durability, it has held up well so far, but I question whether it will be able to last as long as my Cutco and JA Henckels sets. The blade does not run through the handle which, from my research, may make it easier for the blade to break off from the handle. Thankfully this has not happened to me yet, but its better to be safe than sorry.
This knife works well, and is moderately priced. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a starter boning knife. If you plan to keep your knives for quite some time, I would recommend checking out Cutco's knives.
5 stars for performance so far, 4 stars for my perception of durability.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I am a knife snob. I admit it. Dull knives are one of my pet peeves so I was pleased to be able to try this Kai boning knife. I have used Kai scissors before and was very happy with them and this knife is not an exception. The grip is very nice in your hand comfortable rubber/ridged pattern that won't slip. The blade itself is nice and substantial, unlike some very inexpensive knives I've seen. The blade seems to take a 'refreshing' with a strop very well and quickly. Boning chickens is nice and easy. Only time will tell what the durability of this knife is but if it reflects the quality my Kai scissors then I believe that this will be a useful, well used knife for a long time. It's very reasonably priced and is well worth a try!Want Tom Douglas by Pinzon Kai 5-Inch Stainless-Steel Boning Knife Discount?
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I own a quite expensive knife set by J.A. Henckels and am pretty happy with it. I tried to compare this knife to the boning knife I have. I found that this knife to be a very solid competitor in terms of quality and price. The rubber handle gives a very good handle of the knife. The weight is well balanced and just about right. I don't like a light knife. I do need certain weight to bone chickens or steaks. On the other hand, it is not too heavy like some chef knifes I tried before. It is just about right. The only thing I don't like compared with my J.A. Henckels knife is this knife doesn't look as nice. It doesn't look expensive. But you buy this knife to bone chickens, not to display in kitchen. This is a very practical knife and reasonably priced. I strongly recommend it.Cuisinart PrepBoard/Counter Protector

I ordered two of these for use in my kitchen. As the previous reviews stated these are GREAT for serving. I agree that these are perfect for serving snacks, fruit, etc. Though these should not be considered anything more then light duty cutting boards. The lip they have make it near impossible to mince safely, and they tend to slide around quite a bit since they're made of plastic and do not have any rubber/cork/etc feet. They are fine for carefully slicing fruit/tomatoes/etc. Though if you need something to do some regular knife work around the kitchen I'd recommend the plain plastic cutting boards for a quick and cheap solution.Tip: The label that these come with state to "use a damp towel between the counter-top and PrepBoard to avoid slipping". I went down to the local hardware store and picked up a package of the rubber feet you usually see on cupboard doors and applied them to each corner of the board right on the outside of where the plastic feet are and also placed one in the middle. This works well but raises the board a little, again, this isn't safe to do heavy mincing or anything on it since it'll easily tip if you apply pressure to the edge. The good news is it's not slipping around anymore!
-----
Years later update.
The original review still holds true. The base of the board could easily be steadied with shelf liner, or a damp towel. What ended up being the nail in the coffin for it is that after about two years of use and cleanup in the dishwasher it was warped and ended up cracking. I'd strongly suggest looking at either Epicurean cutting surfaces if you want something pretty or any NSF approved Polyethylene board. The Polyethylene boards are what you're going to find in a restaurant kitchen and come in a wide variety of thickness/sizes. There is an Epicurean model with non-slip fleet but I've grown accustomed to always using the damp towel. I've used both types and enjoy them both equally.

These are my favorite cutting boards. Cuisinart makes 3 cutting/prep boards, round, square and rectangle. I bought them in a set all together, I use at least one everyday. They are dishwasher safe so clean up couldn't be easier and they will not dull your knives, absorb odors or collect bacteria. They are all slightly raised around the edge so liquid will not spill on your counter, perfect for tomatoes or anything else you are chopping. I actually just ordered a second rectangle one. You can even use them for outdoor serving, fruit, cheese, etc. Highly recommended! A+!Want Cuisinart PrepBoard/Counter Protector Discount?
This is a up-date.I Just want to say now that I have owned these for over a year,and I now do not buy dishwasher soap with Bleach in it, You can see all the knife cuts in this board! Those cuts look brown, and its a ugly sight.
I do not put these (have a few) in the dishwasher all the time, but when this type of plactic is cut into, I read it is No longer Anti-bacterial!
But still use them and I do love these boards.
When I first bought these boards from Amazon, the cost was $7.99,free shipping..I'm wondering why there now $12.99, Big differents in price!
But I still buy more of these.
This cutting board is lite and easy to handle, So glad I bought it from what a reviewer had to say..Thank you-o)
After useing this cutting board, I won't go back to the heavy wood boards or other heavy plastic boards.
I personally would not use this for a serving tray.I think it looks cheesy for that , not even for outside.
it's also kind of slippery on the top, but doesn't slip on my Granite Counters, or my cutting boards I pull out.
But as a cutting board, it's wonderful.
I also use it for taking foods out to the BBQ, and bring them off the BBQ.
This board does not have that ridge that goes around the bottom/sides like the the other boards do, so you have the whole board for cutting.
The board sloops up all around. When I'm cutting veggies it keeps the water from going over the edge.
The sides keep the food from falling off.
When you push the veggies off they go into the pot etc, with out falling over the sides.
I do not have a problem as one reviewer said about the slooping up sides getting in the way of chopping.
Maybe I use a smaller knife then she/he does!
This board is not a beauty, but it doesn't have to be, it just does what its suppose too. Makes chopping not such a chore, and easier.
((I'm only talking about the rectangle one.))

Chicago Cutlery Centurion 14-Piece Knife Set
While I love them both, I prefer the Centurion knives for serious carving. The exception is the steak knives for which I still use the old Traditional Walnut. The Centurion steak knives with this set are serrated and just don't "feel right" or cut straight. Kind of lightweight. They also snag if you hit a little gristle. The Traditional Walnut steak knives are not serrated, heavier, and slice smooth and straight. In all fairness to Chicago Cutlery I believe they offer a heavier, non-serrated, "Steakhouse" knife in the Centurion design which would probably be great, but it was not what came with my set.
If you are comparing brands, I think the Chicago Cutlery Centurion knives will stand up well against the much more expensive German brands. Mine are still extremely sharp and look brand new after three years, while receiving only the normal reasonable care I would give any good set of knives.So far these knives are meeting my expectations and look to be exactly what I was looking for, a set of knives that I can use and sharpen. The last set I was given had the little perforations on them and you couldn't sharpen them.

It is a very nice looking board. I will say that one should use mineral oil to
treat it for longer lasting use. I am not sure about other types of woods but

I bought this because I needed a larger cutting board. I figured that 19 inches was about the largest that could still be washed in the sink; that turned out to be pretty accurate. The single handle on the side is a good arrangement for hanging this board on a hook, although it is a little heavy for adhesive wall hooks. While appearance was not one of the criteria I was using, this board does look quite nice. For the price I'd say this is an excellent deal, especially with free shipping available. I went with a 4 star rating simply because there isn't anything too spectacular about this board aside from the price.Read Best Reviews of Catskill Craftsmen Bamboo Cutting Board Here
I was searching for a nice bamboo cutting board and looked at probably a hundred of them online. I kept coming back to these because of the great prices, the fact that they were part of the 4 for 3 sale, had Super Saver shipping, and that they are crafted in the USA by a company that supports "no wood waste" by using all scraps for use in heating homes (I looked up their website to find out about them to be sure their name wasn't deceiving...they are actually located in the Catskill Mountains in New York and I was impressed by what I found on their site.) There were no reviews though so I was hesitant to order it. I am so glad that I took the chance!! I purchased the 15 by 12 size which is perfect for most uses. It is also 3/4" thick which should not have a warping problem like some of the other 3/8" boards' reviews stated. This board is smooth, sturdy, and so beautifully crafted that I now leave it out on my counter permanently. It doesn't have rubber "legs" to hold it in place due to the fact that it is duel sided so since I decided to leave it out on the counter I have placed a thin "Handstands Original Sticky Pad" under it which keeps it in place perfectly and can be removed at any time. I would not hesitate to order products from Catskill Craftsmen in the future!!Want Catskill Craftsmen Bamboo Cutting Board Discount?
I bought one of these thinking it was made in America, but the "Made in China" label proved me wrong. These are NOT made in America from sustainable harvested whatever at a local sawmill in the Catskills. They are Chinese-made items. I returned mine for a refund because of this, and will never buy another item from Catskill "Crafstmen." No fault of Amazon that I can see, but the manufacturer's description is deceitful. Do not buy expecting American-made.Overall, the quality of the item seemed fine, but I will get a different one from a manufacturer that accurately represents their products.

I was hesitant on spending ~$3 per fork, but I'm pretty glad I did. These things have a nice chrome like finish that's really shiny. You don't get a steel taste b/c of the coating I guess. All that stuff above in the description about how every detail was made by some chef sure does seem to count.As far as I can tell, the 'ergonomics' of this fork is pretty good. I'd buy some more if I ever needed them.
I'm glad I didn't get the cheap ones available elsewhere here at amazon.
One note, the pictures make the fork look stubby/short at the poking end, but in actuality it's rather slim and long looking and the spacing b/t the prongs are good too. Just trust the description that's provided above.I actually thought they were going to be average but they are well worth it. Love the design and they are super sturdy! After seeing one of these nifty little gadgets on Iron Chef one night, I really wanted one! I purchased this 15 knife model and instantly loved it. Easy to clean because it comes apart and tenderized steaks, chicken, and pork so well for us! In this economy I do purchase cheaper meat cuts and this has made them just as tender and delicious as more expensive pieces. I actually gave this item to my Mom and purchased another (the 45 knife, also by Jaccard and it also comes apart for cleaning) when it sent on sale. I have to say, we are two customers very pleased with Jaccard and their meat tenderizers.Amazon's description says Made in USA, and they may still have some older ones in stock, but I'm not risking having to return it. I went to the store to buy this tenderizer, and Jaccard has moved it's factory to China. I'm going to order Deni Meat Tenderizer instead. Deni's factory is in Italy. I'm sad I'm not able to help the American factory worker, but at least I'm almost sure it is not made in a sweatshop, and by buying the Deni brand I'm slightly punishing Jaccard for laying off their American factory workers.This tool is advertised as being made in USA. It is not. I bought it as a gift for a person that will not use/buy items made in China. On the package it says both made in USA and made in China. I called the factory, I had to call several times before I could speak to someone. They told me they had not been made in the USA in years. What a waste of time. I'm a knife snob.Okay, there ... I've said it.
I love to cook, and nothing bothers me more than dull knives in the kitchen.
I recently bought this cleaver to use with my new wok. For the price, I figured it was worth the gamble.
I'm pleased to report that the gamble paid off! This knife has a good solid "feel" to it. It's well balanced and the blade stays sharp. The wide, flat surface is great for scooping stuff up and tossing it in the wok for stir-frying. It's comfortable for long periods of cutting. I've used it to finely dice garlic and take apart a roasted chicken.
My 11-year-old daughter recently decided she wanted to learn how to cook Asian food, so we spent a fun afternoon in the kitchen making egg rolls and sweet-and-sour chicken. She used the knife (under my supervision, of course) and began to learn how to dice and mince. (Proud pappa that I am, she's on her way to become a great cook! :-D).
The bottom line is, if you're looking for a decent knife, once that sits well in your hand with a blade that stays sharp, you can't go wrong with this baby.
I highly recommend it.
Happy cooking!

I used to have a cleaver with wooden handle but those break over time; I definitely like that the handle and the knife blade are one piece. Very sharp and great to scoop things up after you're done chopping. I've thrown it into the dishwasher w/o any problems. Most asian stores will have it if you want it right away.Want No. 4 Metal Handle Cleaver (7.75 long x 3" wide) Discount?
I got this cleaver because i buy a lot of chicken leg quarters. So now when i bring home my 10lb bag of leg quarters i immediately chop them up before i freeze them. This cleaver works very well for that purpose and cuts through bone and everything. I love that the handle is one with the blade because it assures me that the handle wont fall off.I've had a sharper cleaver before, and had to be very careful with it, but this cleaver is perfect for chopping frozen or thawed chicken with bone along with the right cutting board.
I would get a sharper and heavier cleaver if i wanted to chop through thick beef bones.
