The Chantry is a great device to straighten knife blades. Contrary to some wording, these are not to sharpen a blade. They roll at an axis that re-aligns the already sharpened knife edge. I have very sharp kitchen knives. While I could use a steel to straighten the edge, my wife and kids are not as adapt. I bought a Chantry some 20 years ago. Replacing the rods is all I have to do. We all use it to keep the knives sharp. No guess work, no learning curve, no worries. I'd say this is as fool proof a system as I've seen.

My sharpener needed some oil and new rods. I received the rods and it was very easy to install. I pulled the old ones off and slapped the new ones on.......... now every knife in my house is razor sharp.
