Chicago Cutlery Basics Wood 25-Piece Knife Set with Block

Chicago Cutlery Basics Wood 25-Piece Knife Set with BlockWhatever you do, DO NOT put these knives in a dishwasher. I did since there was nothing in or on the box which gave a warning. The result the handles deteriorated in the process (changed color, surface wore off). The knives also do not fit snugly into their holder.

One good feature they do, supposedly, have a lifetime guarantee. We'll see what happens when I write the company to explain the dishwashing nightmare!

Was very excited to have received the item. In expected condition. Item came in very timely fasion. Great service!

My sister received this for a wedding present. I live with her and use these knives frequently. Its truly ridiculous to cut with these knives. A serrated edge is not appropriate for most knives. Trying to break down a chicken with the boning knife is a joke. Chopping with the chef's knife kinda works, but slicing is impossible. Its a chore for your guest to saw through their steaks, and the handles dry out making them uncomfortable and a health hazard.

The plastic utensils are decent, and the kitchen shears cut well enough, but they don't come apart. This lets bacteria sit between the blades where you can't get to it.

Seriously DO NOT BUY THIS. You can injure yourself trying to force these knives. They're not worth the materials they're made of. Instead invest in a nice forged 8" chef's knife, a 3"-4" paring knife (forged or stamped doesn't matter as much, just NO SERRATED EDGE), and a stamped boning knife. They'll cost more, but you'll actually be able to use them. You'll have less knives, but most of the knives in this set are superfluous anyway.
