A friend posted a picture of his Ulu that he got in Alaska. I was very intrigued by it and so I came to Amazon.com and ordered this one.

I'm very impressed by how it feels in the hand and I have no doubt that under proper training, I can use this very effectively.

I have had an Alaskan Ulu for several years. It is very easy to use since the force of cutting is directly above the blade vs the end of the blade. The last Christmas I purchased two to give a gifts.

It's ok for the price. I bought it primarily to scrape hides and it works well enough. The blade will take a nice edge but doesn't hold it well.
