I helped a friend at a commercial kitchen, and I loved their Mundial knives. I decided to buy one. I got a santoku with the hollow-ground sides.It's a very well-made (inexpensive) knife. It takes an edge fast. It stands up to the dishwasher. The price is great. But there is something about the balance and blade shape...it just doesn't work for me the way a traditional chef's knife does. For this reason, I gave it four stars instead of five.
I also bought a 14" slicer. It's wonderful.
I may go ahead and order a Mundial chef knife. The knives I used in the commercial kitchen were huge chef models, and they worked better for me.
