My husband and I are either frugal or cheapskates, depending on who you talk to. If we can do without or can buy a cheaper version, we tend to. However, we are willing to pay more for quality items, if convinced that that quality will make a meaningful difference. My first pair of kitchen shears were cheap. I struggled to use them with many items, and the blades ended up being slightly out of alignment. My husband's family has a lot of experience with Cutco knives, so we knew their quality. We finally decided to take the plunge and buy Cutco kitchen shears. We don't regret that. They're expensive, but we've found them to be worth every penny.

I use them frequently to cut up meat, and it's relatively effortless, even with my minor joint pain in my hand. Smooth cuts with clean edges. I also have used kitchen shears to cut pizza, and that works nicely too. The handle is very comfortable to use when cutting for an extended period of time. My old shears left red indentations in my hand when used extensively! The scissors are easily taken apart to clean, and easily fit back together. They stay together too, unlike some that frequently fall apart!

If you're a frequent cook who uses kitchen shears, I would definitely recommend these from Cutco. Yes, they're pricey, but for me, it's worth it.

My husband and I bought these shears almost 17 years ago as a "mercy buy" from a family member who was selling Cutco. It is now a family joke that we are still using these shears to this day and have never even sharpened them. It's still the one reliable pair of "scissors" in the house my kids sneak them out of the kitchen when they can't find theirs. I love the fact that they disassemble for easy cleaning, have never rusted and can be thrown in the dishwasher. It's probably the only kitchen item that has been in all 3 of our kitchens throughout our moves. I'm now on the hunt for a reasonably priced Cutco set of knives...

These shears arrived very quickly and appear to be new...a bargain given that Cutco charges $90 for them. I'd lost my original pair which of course showed up as soon as the new pair arrived. I love these shears. They are easy to clean and will cut just about anything. My original pair is probably 15+ years old. I ordered the new ones as soon as I was convinced the old ones were lost. That is how much I love these shears.

It's not surprising these scissors are as expensive as they are they are worth their weight in gold. I bought the ones with ivory molded plastic handles. I love how amazingly these scissors unhinge to come apart into 2 pieces for cleaning or sharpening & reattach together effortlessly & they never come apart unexpectedly, only when you deliberately take them apart.

These are the only heavy duty scissors I've had that will cut through the toughest fabric (thick tough denim) without bruising or hurting my hands. They stay sharp & feel very secure & sturdy in the hand. Super-high quality, I guard these away from the rest of my family who have no idea how much I paid for these. They proved to be a worthwhile investment (as long as I make sure I don't misplace them).

I have been cooking for over 40 years. I have purchased many high end cooking utensils.

These shears are by far the best I have ever used. They cut through a chicken joint like it is not even there. I wish I had had these over the years when I was cutting fat off with a knife and cutting myself.
