Okay, there have been many reviews for how well this works in the kitchen, but for other "soapers", I just wanted to let you know that it cuts through my soaps with the greatest of ease. It's very well made and well balanced, giving you a nice, stright cut.

I had to replace one that I'd had for about 10 years and couldn't find it in any of the kitchen stores. I use it for cutting anything with a hard rind. It's great for watermelon, squash, carrots, celery, potatoes, and jicima. It also makes fun shapes and provides interest for the kids. The handle is very comfortable and you can get the leverage you need for tough cutting, better than trying to put you hand on the other end of a knife to cut through fruits and vegetables.

Bought this for my wife with the intention of using it as a soap-cutter for homemade soap loaves... works like a champ! Grooves are wide enough to clean easily, construction seems sturdy, handle is comfortable (although it could use a bit rougher texture for better grip).
