Chicago Cutlery Insignia Kitchen Scissors, RedI bought a two pack (Amazon price of $7.99 is a better deal that I got on the two pack) and have one designated for meat trimming/food use and one for general purpose.

These shears are fantastic. The blade is a little shorter than I am used to, but the speed with which I can now cut through meats etc. more than makes up for the blade length.

Absolutely would buy again.

I bought these scissors for my family members as gifts after finding they work great. I was able to cut a cornish hen in half with no effort. I also cut a two inch thick roast in half with no effort. After I opened one of the packages of scissors, I then used those scissors to open the other package of scissors and it was MUCH easier to open.

There is one catch though. I watched my dad try to use the scissors and the holes for your fingers and thumb did not appear to be big enough for his big hands. He ended up keeping his fingers outside of the loop, which looked more cumbersome. This is the only reason I did not give this five stars.

If you have normal or small hands, I totally recommend these scissors. They are sharp as scissors, but aren't as sharp as a knife when they are taken apart to be washed. I haven't had the chance to use them on any chicken bones yet. However, the way it cut the cornish hen in half, I doubt it will be a problem. I barely noticed there were even bones in the cornish hen.

The extra tools on the back of the loops do not get in the way when using the scissors.

Haven't used it for cutting chicken yet, but I use it for everything else. Cuts old credit cards like butter. Cuts the tough plastic packaging material well also. I like how easy it comes apart to wash, and stays together afterwards. Definitely recommend it.

These scissors are great if you don't mind the blades separating while you use them and having the blades fall like knives toward your feet. Any time you open these up to get a nice fresh cut into something, you run a high risk of the blades coming apart. I wish there was a lock on them. I'm no chef, and maybe people find that extra cut-out in the blade good for cutting bone or whatever, but it makes cutting anything else impossible. Plus, is it really that handy to have a bottle opener on the back? Really? Seems a little dumb.

These scissors don't hold together well and tend to separate. You can put them back together but its a hassle that you could avoid with other scissors. Mine have totally dulled after a year's use. Will now have to replace.
