The quality of Henckel knives is at the top of the heap.You spend more money than this,but the knife is not going to perform any better.This will be my third set of these.Every time I got divorced these knives mysteriously dissapeared.They are all still in happy use today just not at my house.I like them so much I've bought three sets.This is the lowest price I've paid,even fifteen years ago !!I give em five stars.

The Zwilling JA Henckels Four Star 9-Piece Block Set (or any Four Star set for that matter) is absolutely the best kitchen knife ever made. There are, of course, more expensive knives but as far as feel, balance, and most importantly, cutting, this is the best knife I have ever used. I actually purchased a different set of Henckels at a local department store because they were out of the Four Star's and tomorrow they are getting donated to a charity because they just don't feel as good. There is just no comparison when you get a Four Star in your hands from the small paring knife to the large, great for everything, chef knife, for cutting things around the kitchen. If you want the absolute best knife set you can get, this is the one!

I just purchased my second set, I know the listing say they are dishwasher safe but I do not like my knifes going into the dishwasher. I had a set that my mother gave me and I took very good care of them. My wife ran them in the dishwasher and this caused the handles to get a milky film over the top of my great looking black handles, over time I just did not care. Now that we have a new home she promised to not run them in the dishwasher again. I can't wait for my new set to arrive this week. My favorite knife is the 5" Santoku Hollow Edge I use this knife about 80% of the time. The balance and build of these knifes are fantastic. Sure you could spend thousands on more expensive knife sets but these are about the best that I have seen for the money. Make sure to buy the bigger block and get a set of steak knifes to complete the set.

Having had unbelievably crappy knives for the past 10 years, I honestly felt like someone who had bad eyesight but didn't know that glasses would fix them. I didn't know the difference, since it was all I knew. I was used to hacking through meat, vegetables, or (god forbid) an onion with all my might. One day at a friends house, I used their nice knives and it was like seeing for the first time. I couldn't believe that a knife would slice like butter through all the things I had been hacking away and swearing at. I went home that night and started researching. As someone who has to cut or chop nightly, I decided that I would invest in some really good knives and then burn my others in a ceremonial cleansing. After researching, I decided to go with Henckels 4 star over Wusthof, because the price was better and received very high reviews (as did the Wusthof, but again...price beat out) I received my knives, and could not be happier! I made sure that I was properly equipped with lots of thing to cut up that first night and it actually made chopping a joy! I'm sure I made my husband a little uneasy as I stood there with an insanely sharp knife in my hand and a crazy wild eyed grin in my eye as I looked for more things to cut, but he wisely stood back and watched as I julienned, chopped, minced, and filleted to my little hearts desire. I could go on and on about how happy my new knives make me, but suffice it to say that my Henckels Four Star knives speak for themselves. I'm considering adding on to my house so that they have their own room...as any member of the family should have :)

When we first got married we bought a cheaper set Henckels eversharp set they also did a pretty good job, they were ok. But I often thought "wish we would have spent a little more and got some REAL good knives". So now I did. Sold the eversharp and am really happy with my choice. superb quality. The knive is almost "falling" through the things you cut. I especially like the Santoku knife. No comparison to any knife I've had so far and the price is unbeatable. I am German and even in Germany (were the knives are produced) you will have to pay more.
