The sheath or "Saya" is a little loose but who buys it for that

I have a full set of the Shun Blues (in addition to a HUGE Shun Collection) and they are tremendous knives! The steel WILL discolor and requires some attention when cleaning and storing, but the payoff is an incredibly sharp blade, confortable handle and VERY functional design!

I chose this knife as a warranty replacement for a rare Kershaw sent in for repair that they could not fix or replace.

They gave me $175 credit for the Kershaw, and this knife is $225 at their site...so I had to shell out another $50.

I'm glad I did. The cutting edge is razor sharp out of the box, and it is a beauty to behold.

The blade length is perfect for it's intended use...boning poultry.

As advertised, cuts through bone cartilage like butter. I also use it for trimming and scoring cuts of beef and pork.

Like others have said, I do have some blade discoloration at the edge, but it still looks beautiful.

Amazon's price is a decent deal for this perfect blend of beauty and function. Recommended.
