I purchased this knife for a gift, but based the purchase on my having owned a similar knife that I bought in a hardware store in Bitburg Germany in 1981, and which has been passed down to my son who still uses it today. The knife has a fabulous, flexible blade that makes filleting like sculpting. The classic design of the handle works well with either lefties (that would be me) or right-handers. I know you're not supposed to put these knives in the dishwasher, but for decades I have and they show little wear. Needs re-sharpening monthly, depending on use.
