I bought both this knife and the MIU France 6-inch chefs knife at the same time, thinking I'd like one of them better than the other, but as it turns out, I remain undecided. When I want to mince garlic, for example, I find myself reaching for either one of these two knives equally, not really caring which one I get. I favor them both over my 8" knives because I don't really need the extra length and I feel more control. Both hold an edge fairly well. They're both great knives for when you don't really need 8" size.
