Opinel EuroQuest Imports 2-Inch Keychain Knife

Opinel EuroQuest Imports 2-Inch Keychain KnifeMy husband and son loved these. Note that the blade does not lock. Good size for the pocket. Handy item.

To me, this isn't a real pocket knife. It's more of a novelty item for people that like Opinel knives. It doesn't lock open, it's REALLY dull out of the box and the 'blade' is very flimsy, so flimsy that sharpening it would take some effort if the steel is even up to it. I can take one finger and bend it over easier than a butter knife. I suppose you could use it as a novel letter opener. I have a Buck Metro, that's a real micro-sized pocket or key chain knife. This, once again, is a novelty item IMO.

This is about the cuteist little keychain knife I own. I like the wood handle and the contours of the shape. Other then that, it is totally useless. The only thing I found its good for is to clean under your finger nails and a conversation piece.

I bought one of these twenty years ago and it tried to open in my pocket. There is nothing to keep the blade closed, not even a spring. Luckily I realized what a poor design it is and threw it out before it could hurt me. In my opinion these are unsafe and should not be sold. Do not buy unless you want a punctured scrotum.

I should have read the description closer, this is a TINY knife. I was looking for a small pocket knife for work, but larger than this knife.

See my pics added below product picture (Top of page) for some idea of the size.

Still, for the money it seems well made so I will keep it and add it to my collection.

I still favor carbon blades and to date have not found a better knife than Mora brand.
