Spiral Slicer vegetable 4404

My mother had one of these lots of years ago. In the process of moving her stuff... and my stuff... it came up missing. Finally I found a replacement. FOr some things this can't be beat. No mess, no waste.

I have a spiral cutter for pasta spaghetti, but still use this for hard veggies like sweet potato, carrots, diakon, etc.

You won't be sorry. Cheap and neat.

I only gave this 3 stars becuase it takes some cordination to get your product to turn out like the ones shown and the item seems cheep to me, also it seems a little dangerious with a sharp knife edge on one side, I am not sure how I am suppose to store it properly. All of that said you can with some pratice make some nice garnish.

I usually don't give a 1 star review unless a product is really bad, this product fits into that category.

Simply put...the screw strips out the potato after a few turns and then the blade no longer spirals thru the rest of the potato.

I have the same product in an all plastic version (even with a plastic blade) that actually works but the blade is too bendable, being plastic. It was free with a tele-marketing knife set old Ginsu type knives which was returned.

The blade on this tool is what I wanted, sharp and stiff for nice cuts, but the screw part is a fail.

Sending it back for a refund, thanks Amazon for your return policy.

This slicer works quite good for vegetables or fruits that are rather wide (cross section) and soft enough but not so effective for many others as the plastic screw is short and wide. It would work much better if screw is thinner and made of , say stainless steel
