This knife is probably the best you're gonna get for the price. In fact, in my opinion, it performs better than knives in it's category that are much more expensive. When I bought this at Korin in NYC, the sales rep pushed this on me even though I wanted to spend twice as much on a different knife, he literally would not let me buy a different one, and I'm glad he didn't. Some of my peers own Masanobu's a and UX10's and they don't perform like my G1, hands down. I've owned one for two years, and I'm able to keep the edge impeccable to this day. I sharpen it every three weeks, and after every sharpening, I can literally shave my arm hair easily with all areas of the blade, even the very tip. I typically spend only 10 to 15 minutes sharpening. I honestly think I'll get another two years out of it before I buy another one. I work in a four star restaurant, and use this knife about 50 hours a week, so if you are buying this for home use, it will last you a lifetime. Wonderful knife!
