This fish scaler has about a 98% efficiency. When I bring home fish, I used to scale them in bags to prevent scales from flying all over the place. This was using a simple brass or metal ones. Now I use this and I would say out of 100 scales, maybe 2 go flying out. So overall on a whole fish, maybe a handful of scales go flying. Great buy and makes a great gift.Save 2% Off
