I was looking for a knife that was smaller than a chef's knife and larger than a paring knife. As an avid home cook, I use knives every day and am very particular about my kitchen equipment.I've had this blade for less than a week and I already love it. It's well-balanced with a nice heft, comparable to a Shun, not as heavy as a Henckels.
Craftsmanship is superb, handle is comfortable (I have big hands), blade seems strong with a medium amount of flex, not too stiff, not too flimsy.
Like shoes or other personal items that one feels strongly about, I would usually suggest that people go to a store and handle them before they buy, but I took a chance on this one and am very satisfied.
The downside: it is a little pricey.
