I couldn't resist trying this out as I love fine cutlery as well as all things bamboo. The construction and ergonomics are surprisingly good. The handle is thick enough to hold nicely. Using my regular steel knife sharpener--the old fashioned kind--I can get a fine edge on it almost as good as steel (and with no saw dust!), but then I do treat it pretty gently. Don't expect this to replace a steel knife, but there are good uses for it. It is as much a conversation piece for me as it is a kitchen tool. I never had problems with cut lettuce turning brown but it was a good excuse to buy this fun but functional toy. Now I can cut cake without scratching the pan.

Knife was not sharp at all... Fine for cutting soft cheese, tomatoes, etc. DON'T try to cut an apple with it! Very disappointed. Glad we only bought one.

Felt uncomfortable cutting with this. Seemed flimsy and cutting meat was not an option. Maybe I just am not use to this style of knife!

I like the look, but doesn't cut well. A. Quality metal knife works much better. Only good for soft foods -like lettuce.

So dull doesn't really cut. Neat concept and something to talk to guests about, but not functional. I ordered the bread slicer with a serrated edge and it works very well for now. Not sure how to sharpen if it dulls.
