I've been using this grapefruit knife for several years and bought a new one only because I didn't bring my old one with me when I came South for the winter and discovered the difficulty cutting grapefruit without it. It does a very good job and does it quickly. It will dull slightly over time but you wouldn't necessarily notice it unless you compared it with a new one.

This knife still requires another knife to section the grapefruit. I had a different pappered chef grapefruit knife that had a straight edge on one side of the knife and a curved knife edge on the other. It was more useful because it was the only implement needed. So if I could, I'd use the old one. I'll keep this one because it does do a good job on the curved surface of the fruit.
