I like it but make sure that you have a large enough space on your counter for it as it is quite large. Both surfaces are lightly textured rather than totally smooth. Also it is not perfectly flat and IMO needs to have non-slip rubber feet installed as it can easily slide around on a formica or or other smooth material counter top. I have ordered some appropriate adhesive feet to install on it to tie it down.Very close to truly 1" thick. I measured mine as .96" in thickness which I consider close to nominal listed thickness. This is better than the reviewed thickness of some thinner versions which have been reported as considerably thinner than nominal thickness.
