Bought these cause they were on sale and had planned to give them as gifts. Got frustrated with the Kitchen Aid and Martha Stewart sets from Macy's. Opened them up and they were remarkably good. It has been six months and they are still as good as the day we began using them. Keep them out of the dishwasher. They have wood handles and that will ruin them. But they cut, cut, cut. Good knives!
After many years of dealing with really lousy kitchen knives that constantly needed sharpening (and even then, they would go dull fast), I found the Tramontina knives by accident -and I have used nothing else since. I even ordered the same knives to give to my sister for Christmas, since she has had the same bad experiences with knives. The Tramontinas. which have tiny, tiny serrations along the blade, are startlingly good -so good, in fact, that you deliberately have to be extra conscious of using them because they're so tremendously sharp. You cannot go wrong with these. -The set of knives was delivered to me promptly by the Amazon vendor and I was very happy with everything.
