I purchased this item because the wood matched my cabinets and it was being offered at a very reasonable price ($14.50 or so). I went ahead and purchased even though there weren't any reviews on it at the time (somebody's gotta be first, right?).The good:
It was well packed upon arrival and its box was intact. This is about where the good aspects of this purchase end.
The bad:
I took it out of the box and not one, but BOTH of the magnet strips slid out before the wood did. They had been attached with what appeared to be some VERY cheap wood glue. Why the manufacturer thought this would be a good idea when dealing with two different surface types (one of which is not porous and most definitely not wood) is beyond me. I might have overlooked this as I tend to keep epoxy and JB weld on hand, but the final straw was the fact that this didn't even come with mounting hardware.
Overall:
Horrible product, but great customer service on Amazon's part (I have yet to be disappointed by Amazon's customer service). I put in my return request on a Sunday evening and the "trash" was gone from my porch by the time I got home from work on Monday afternoon.

I have three and they all came glued together and with screws. The magnets are much stronger than the old knife holders I had.I highly reccomend these holders.
