After struggling for some time with the utterly worthless Chefmate bread knife from Target, I gambled and bought the OTHER cheap bread knife at Target, this one. It performs well, making quick work of crusty baguettes, etc. And at this price point, I think it's good value.

Because of the purple color, I can easily find the knife. Because of the sheath, I can store it anywhere. I don't expect to use it every day so I didn't want to spend a fortune. It works good enough for me.

well i,ve been looking for a cheap bread knife for a few months i came across @ Ross for 5.95 works just fine and of course the price was right i may return to get the chefs knife also

I have one of these and have b0ught 3 more as gifts. wonderful product. I bake "artisan" bread and this knife cuts the thick crusty bread with ease. definitely recommended
