Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program When given the opportunity to test a kitchen product from the makers of my old and trusted 1961 Swiss Army Knife, I knew quality was not going to be an issue. Opening the box, the Victorinox 8" Chef's Knife leaves quite an impression. Now for the test.

Mounted with a feel good handle and a high carbon stainless steel blade, the Victorinox 8" Chef's Knife has great balance and a nice ergonomic feel. Make no mistake, this blade arrives sharp. I put it to the real test of cutting up partially thawed whole chickens. It handled the task with ease.

The next night, it was my go to tool for dicing vegetables for stew. Once again, it proved itself as a worthy cutting accessory. Last night it passed the test for carving an oven roast. It goes without saying that it aided my carving technique greatly and delivered on perfect, even slices each and every time.

The National Sanitary Foundation (NSF) placed its seal of approval on this great kitchen tool. Its also dishwasher safe. True to its billing, I noticed no discoloration or spotting on the blade or handle after running it through the dishwasher. Like Victorinox's great line of pocket knives, the manufacturer also tags this product with a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and craftsmanship.

The overall quality of the Victorinox 8" Chef Knife has exceeded my expectations. Its now become one of my favorite go to kitchen drawer tools. I recommend it.

The blade is as good as anything I've used in a professional kitchen. Slices through fruit and vegetable skins with ease, and has the right shape for working quickly. It would get 5 stars were it not for the handle. I'm not crazy about the texture and the shape could be more comfortable. For the price, it's good, but I'm not in love with it.

I'm very pleased with this purchase...it's about $100 LESS than the same "high-end" knives like it ... very sharp and seems to be holding it nicely after several weeks of use...well-balanced and feels good in the hand...only slight complaint is the handle "looks" kinda plain and inexpensive, even tho it feels good.

Great for everything. Cleans easily. Since I read the previous reviews I don't put this knife in the dishwasher. So far it's been very helpful in cutting up whole chickens. Hope to use it for along time.
