This is a good item to carry, but I miss the double roller. Others by McGowan have two sharpeners. They operate more smoothly. Also, the diamond sharpener is a little more coarse.

I have tried many, many kinds of pocket knife sharpeners. Some are fragile, some tear off tons of metal from the blade, some are too large or complicated... so far this one seems the best balance of them all. It quickly puts a good, sharp working edge on blades and, although it is a little agressive, it's nowhere near as bad as the carbide "v"-type sharpeners that literally peel metal off your knife. I like this one and will put it in my bugout kit. This company also makes a "FireStone" ceramic sharpener that may be less agressive. I'll try that one next. But overall, I do recommend this sharpener so far.
