I'm glad I purchased this when I did....I bought mine cheap and when I looked at the price again it had gone up significantly (I gotta great deal ). Price probably reflects the season you purchase in. but anyway...I bought my 1st watermelon (this year) a week ago and this knife sliced right through the melon with no problems. I recommend this knife for any type of melon or pineapple.
This is the only watermelon knife I have used. It sees to never ware out so I am not lured to other versions. I was surprised that there is a need for this critter; it found me in the store. It is so much easier than using steak knives. I also have longer knives but they are not as easy to use as this critter. I also appreciate the sheath especially with inquisitive cats.
