No longer. The Kyocera 5 inch is now my every day knife. This knife especially shines when it comes to soft skinned and fleshy cuts. Put this knife to the produce and you get a smooth low resistance cut that does not mash or mangle the product. Slicing and dicing grapes, shrimp, fish, delicate leafy, veggies and herbs are a whiz with this knife.
It is truly an artist tool.
Keep in mind, if you are a power user that likes to bend and twist your cutting tool, or hack and slash your produce, stick with the Ginsu you have been using, this instrument is NOT FOR YOU.
This instrument must have proper storage and care. NO hammering through bones, NO hacking through coconuts, NO 30 degree bends filleting a fish or fruit.
If you need a cutting tool for the most delicate of process, this could be the end of your search.
