I bought this (and several other Joseph-Joseph items) because I liked the way they looked. I don't use glass cutting boards for cutting, because they dull knives, but for landing places for hot items beside my stove. When it gets dirty, it gets washed -every day. It was fine as long as I held it briefly under running water, but one day I made the mistake of letting it sit and soak in the soapy water in the sink. The colorful design turns out to be applied as a sheet of plastic on the back side, and soaking it loosened it in several places. At first, the problem was visual -the loose areas looked fuzzy from the top side -but eventually they released completely and parts of it started to sag. The feet fell off. I ended up peeling it all off and am left with a plain, clear glass cutting board which I could have bought for $9.49 from Amazon. I bought this item, what I call a glass cutting board, to use as a topper on my nightstands. I wanted to cover up scratches in the wood with something bright and cheerful. The colors on this one are nice and it protects the nightstands from further damage.

I love the splash of colour on my white solid surface worktop ! I bought this so I can put hot pots and pans on my tabletop without worrying, this worktop has small plastic knobs at the bottom so it's easy to lift it off the surface. I don't anticipate using it as a cutting board though, even though it's supposed to be able to do that as the surface is rough can catch bits and pieces of food if you're not careful about cleaning it thoroughly.
