Chicago Cutlery 6-Piece Cheese Board Set

The quality of this set is to me amazing considering that I purchased it here for fifteen bucks shipped. In my opinion it would be a bargain at twice the price.

The knives are relatively small, so consider these dimensions before making a final purchase decision:

Board: 8 inches long x 7.25 inches wide cutting area (excludes the handle). Total length with handle is 9.5 inches.

Box outside dimensions: 7 inches x 6.25 inches.

Knives: approximately 5.25 inches long.

As others have stated the wood handles are not finished to perfection, but I found that a coating of olive oil on those was an organic and food safe way to give them an even color and protect the wood. The blades are both sharp and sturdy. I have used the knives/cutters on different densities of cheeses and the right knife for the right cheese works perfectly. Among the cheese densities I have used them on are soft cheese (brie), medium (gorgonzola) and harder cheese (Parmigiano-Reggiano).

The corkscrew tool is well constructed and one of the same quality typically sells for half the price of the entire set, which adds value as far as I am concerned.

You definitely need to hand wash the knives and other tools. I fear that even one cycle in a dishwasher would damage them. They are easy to clean by hand so this requirement does not diminish their utility or value as far as I am concerned.

The tools come in a wooden box which make them attractive gifts as well as personal kitchen and table tools. They look as though they cost much more than what I paid for mine.

This product was as advertised and shipped promptly. It was purchased as a gift for someone who hopefully is enjoying it.

Poor quality wood and the stain on handles was cheap. It was not a quality I would expect from Chicago Cutlery.
