This cutter is better than another certain high priced one by the usual kings of all things baking...starts with a w...because this one has the same features at much less of a price. The wires are adjustable. My favorite thing is that there are grooves on the cutter so that once you set the levels you need to cut at, the cutting wires stay in place, they don't slip. This cutter is plenty wide enough for any job. It is even large enough to cut a full 13 by 9 sheet cake and a large round cake. It won't be big enough for the largest bottom round of a wedding cake but it probably would cut the next size smaller. This cutter is sturdy and well made. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone.
