I bought this thinking that the 90° offset in the knife handle meant you could rest the knife with the flat of the handle down and the blade facing down. I had seen some some other settings with that look. Unfortunately, this design doesn't allow that, the knife tips over. So the offset is not functional, and it was also not comfortable either. So I returned it and am getting the Yamazaki Twirl, which is the same design, but the knife handle is not offset. I was looking for a nice set of hip and stylish silverware to use when friends come for dinner. This set does not disappoint. It is nicely weighted, feels good in your hand, and is unique looking without being over the top. Worth every penny if you want to make a good impression while entertaining. By the way, the pictures don't do this set justice.
