I am very happy with the color and the height of my new can opener. The only complaint I have is that the magnet that holds the lid isn't very strong and often drops the lid in the can of stuff so I have to be careful My old $8.00 can opener didn't do this.

Bought because it is red, works poorly, hard to get the can to "catch", magnetic lid snatch gets it the way. Would not buy again or recommend to others.

My experience was similar to other negative reviewers'. After a few months, it became almost impossible to get the opener to "catch" on the can and actually begin cutting. You need to jiggle and push and give it a running start.

Also bothersome is the weakness of the magnet, which is essentially useless.

I purchased this for Christmas in 2007 and it still works great. I especially like the easy way to clean it. Just push down the button on top and the cutter part pops off to wash/clean. Just pop it back on.

I was nosing around on Amazon for a can opener to buy my sister and realized I bought mine,this one, which she LOVES, 5 years ago. It is STILL going strong. It opens every can I've ever needed to open. The magnet swings out of the way if I want it to or holds the lid if I "fwap" it down into place. The cutting assembly removes for easy clean up in the dishwasher or sink, and snaps back into place easily. This is the best electric can opener I've ever had, and friends and family who cook with me for holidays/etc. all love it too. It opens little cans, large cans, heavy cans, light cans, all with the same quick ease.
