Have you run into a problem with keeping wooden knife blocks clean and free of bugs? I live in a warm climate and this has been a continuing issue in my kitchen. While expensive, this knife block addressed the problem. It can be easily washed in the sink. It readily holds a variety of knives, larger and smaller, and the plastic won't harm the blades.
