All though I didn't need it I picked up this knife because I found it deeply discounted.I was't sure what to expect as I had read mixed reviews. When it arrived it's fit and finish were excellent.For my hands I haven't felt many knifes that fit my hand as comfortably. I also feel that it has a nice balance between the weight of the blade and that of the handle and weight overall.It feels good with a variety of holds.
This will problebly be my "go to" knife when one this size is needed.
The edge when it arrived was sharp enough to shave hair.I haven't used it long enough to comment on edge retention but for everything I've chopped with it so far it hasn't lost that edge.
I've purchased forged Henckels,Wusthof,Mercer,Messermeister,Lamsonsharp,Dexter to name a few and haven't ever been as pleased intially as I was with this knife.
I am very happy with the purchase of this knife.
