These are quite heavy and have a relatively nice style, but the emphasis is on relatively. They are not authentic Laguiole French knives but only copy that style; it clearly says "Made in China" on the wrapper around the box. Only slightly more expensive and far better quality are the "Jean Dubost Laguiole 6-Piece Steak Knives -Olivewood" made in France by the top producer of French Laguiole cutlery and are available on Amazon Jean Dubost Laguiole 6-Piece Steak Knives -Olivewood and at Wine Enthusiast. Note that Dubost also make a cheaper (under $100 for a set of 6) line of knives in China under their brand but with thinner stamped instead of forged steel blades.
Came very promptly; very nice wooden storage case; high quality craftmanship on wood handles with details just as depicted. Excellent value for a set of 6.
