My electric sharpener from Smith's works great. It sharpens both sides of the knife at the same time, so the edge is centered correctly. Also, the circular sharpening wheels create a "hollow ground" edge that's extra sharp it's like the edge put on knives at the factories of top knife companies. I could not be more pleased.

This machine does what it says: It produces a true hollow ground blade. My Henckles knives have never been sharper.

This knoife sharpener does an excellent job on knives and scissors. It is very easy to use. It is expensive but it does a professional job and I won't have to take my knives and scissors to someone else to sharpen.

This sharpener handled knife sharpening just fine, but I'm not sure it did a $119 job of knife sharpening.

The scissors sharpener is a piece of ceramic held at an angle in a plastic holder, just like the $6.00 scissor sharpeners that are so easily available; there is nothing electric about it. To sharpen scissors, you just pretend you are trying to cut the piece of ceramic and it sharpens as the scissor blades move against the ceramic rod.

I would think that the less expensive $39 Smith sharpener along with a separate $6 scissor sharpener would do just as good a job for a more reasonable price.
