For the good. the santoku knife is a nice stamped blade. It is thinner than a chef's knife and better for more delicate cutting. Everyone should have a chef's knife, along with a pairing knife, and the santoku is a good number 3. The cutting board is really great, but there are some improvements that can be made.
The pairing knife feels like it is made of tinfoil. I don't know how long it will last but it is good to have a spare one of those. I would recommend as a design improvement a more grippy handle, it kind of feels like it will slip out of my hand at the worst possible time.
