I'm not one to purchase single-use kitchen gadgets, but I had to try this one out of shear curiosity. I LOVE IT! It really cleans out the avacado flesh and leaves little to no waste. It's handy to use and easy to clean. Just get one, you won't be disappointed.

I rate this Kuhn Rikon Avocado knife "nearly awesome" if only for it's ability to get the entire avo half out with the cool curved blade! Do we get the pit out with it? No doesn't seem to work for us. Do we use it to slice the avocado? No, we have decent knives. But NOTHING we have gets the avocado separated from it's peel as beautifully as this little baby. I love avocados and often eat at least one every day. This is by far the best avocado scooper tool available.

While the serrated "blade" will cut the skin and the two prong will extract the pit, I find a knife works better for these functions. But as a "scooper" this tool extracts the avocado completely and leaves virtually nothing remaining in the skin, regardless the size or shape of the avocado. Nothing else I've tried comes close.

About every six weeks I purchase a dozen avocadoes and make up a huge batch of homemade guacamole, which I divide up into single portion (3 fl oz) cans for freezing.
