The Matfer Brand was founded in 1814 and is located in Normandy France. It is internationally known for its line of pastry, bakery, and catering wares which include whisks, spoons, bread tins, pastry cutters, tartlets (like this one), moulds, mixers, paddles and slicers. Most of its products are used in commercial kitchens.I ordered a 5.5" tart ring and had meant to order a 10.25" version. I have created these reviews for the other sized rings like this 9.5" one to help remove any confusion. These tart rings are great quality and I believe them to be 5 star worthy based on the 5.5" one I received. I hope giving the other sized ones a same 5 star rating proves to be correct. I hope they are all similarly made and of the same quality. (They appear to be in the photos and from Matfer's website).
The sku # is 371615 which is listed as: Plain Tart Ring: Diameter 9.5" (240mm), Height 3/4" (19mm)
The list price is $11 which is what Amazon sells it for. I have found it listed for as low as $9.35 on other sites (as of 1/4/13).
This Amazon listing seems a little bare. I wish it had a little more information in its description to clarify things. Not sure why they put the sku in the product title but not the diameter. Would have been better listed as "Matfer Bourgeat 9.5" x 3/4" Plain Tart Ring, Silver".
Hope this helps anyone out there looking at the different tart rings. I think the Matfer Brand is quality and am going to keep this tart ring despite the fact that I actually thought I was ordering a 10.25" ring (which I now know is this one Matfer Bourgeat 371616 Plain Tart Ring, Silver)
